We were doing some thinking, and we thought, instead of just posting up with recipe, we figured we’d share more of our day to day activities and thoughts as well. We do share a lot on IG, however, we will say, what get’s posted on there is a very SMALL sliver of what goes on in a typical day. We think it will be kind of therapuetic too to blog! We are sure y’all can relate.
Anyway…obviosly, both of us don’t sit around a computer typing, haha. Today, it’s me (Samantha) rambling 😉 This is all kind of new to me! I’m defintiely more of a private person, and used to be rididculously shy when I was younger. I can just see myself hiding behind my mom’s leg right now! (As if that was going to make me invisible!)
I was thinking of what I was going to write about here, and I thought, “what would I want to read about?” Well, I love people watching and/or finding out about what oher people do on partular day. Maybe that’s why I love reality TV?! So now y’all know I am a pretty private person who loves reality TV and people watching.. awesome combo, right!?
Okay, so what did I do this weekend? I ATE all weekend. Okay, not all weekend, but I do spend a lot of time eating during the day. It’s pretty comical! I spend a good amount of time on my laptop working. Luckily, it’s on my couch. Yes, I have a desk, but I like to complicate things and spend money on things I don’t use. I will say the desk is cute decoration! It’s funny because I don’t really have a weekend or a day off. At my corporate job, I couldn’t WAIT for the weeekend to come. Now, no day is the same. I work 7 days a week, but I wouldn;t have it any other way. I am a person that always has to be busy. If I am sitting still for a second, I will admit, I get very bored! OOPS! Alexis and I are running several different companies at the moment–all at different stages, so it defintely keeps us busy! I try to get my workouts in the morning, since that’s what I’ve been used to ever since I did 5 am workouts before work. Sometimes, that can’t happen due to meetings or clients, so I will have to fit it in at random times of the day, and I will say my motivation at that point is negative! I did venture out for some Mediterannean feasting (my absolue fave!), and snuck in a couple of hours throughout the weekend to veg outside on my patio and read some magazines (and eat, duh). Oh, and we ventured to Target to “return” some shoes. I put return in quotes because we all know that somehow some other shoes and random items magically walked their way into my cart and then walked themselves again into my house! At least they were on sale! (Blog post soon on some finds!)
OKAY, now that I wrote a novel, y’all can finally read about the star of this post: this AMAZING oatmeal bake! It is SO easy to make because you literally dump all of the ingredients in a baking dish and bake it in the oven. All you have to do is cut it into individual servings and warm up when you’re ready to it. It can’t be easier than that! We have made a regular one before, but this time, we decided to do chocolate because, well, I am a SUPER DUPER chocolate lover!
We like ours heated up and then served in a bowl of cold almond or cashew milk! SO good!
You can use any fruit or flavor combinations you’re in the mood for. We used fresh berries and cherries, but the possibilites are endless! You could even make it savory!
Look at that deliciousness! So moist.
