It is FREEZING in Dallas! Yes, I know many of y’all have probably been in full-on winter where you live, but just a few days ago, we were in shorts and a tee-shirt! We love bundling up and looking super cute (who doesn’t love being all cozy in a big jacket and scarf?!), BUT, we are definitely warm weather kind-of-girls!

If you don’t own a puffer jacket, you are missing OUT. We know it can seem a little marshmallow-looking, haha, but it keeps you SOOOO warm! We got this one a while back, and are still wearing it every winter. We just ordered this one and can’t wait for it to come in!

Another must-have is some rain boots. We have 3 pairs of these hunter boots, and swear by them! You can wear them in the rain, in the snow, or just in the cold weather. They also sell the socks that fit inside the boots to line them and keep you even warmer! Our dad did make fun of us and say we looked like we were about to put out a fire, but we still love them;)

A scarf is obviously a must-have! We will admit, we were kind of tired of seeing the same paid scarf all over social media, but we actually have worn this one SO much, and it adds a fun pop of color to any outfit!

When these leggings first came out, we were a little weary of what to wear with them, and they did kind of feel like a costume at first;) BUT, we came to LOVE them, and we kid you not, we probably wear these 2 or 3 times a week. They’re super comfy and SO versatile! What’s better than that?

Happy Wednesday! We are so excited to finally be sharing this post with y’all! We have been getting a lot of requests to start sharing more fitness-related content and videos, so here you go! Each week, we are planning on sharing videos, several of our workouts from the week, as well as a breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipe that we are planning on making this week or the following week!

Typically, we will do anywhere from 20-45 minutes of cardio, usually on the stair master, followed by weight training (each muscle group a different day). This week, we are sharing an arm and chest + calf workout, as well as a few videos!

Below is an arm workout we did last week + cardio:

1.) Step Ups On Bench ( you can hold 10b plates in each hand and do 10-12 reps on each leg for 3-4 sets)

PS-this bench is way too high, so choose a bench that is a little lower than this!

2.) Curls With Weighted Ball (you can hold a 10-12lb ball and do 10-12 reps of 3-4 sets

As far as cooking and meal prepping, we have done several posts on that, but typically, we like to have some kind of protein prepped for the week, like grilled chicken. That way, we can just add it to salads or veggies in 5 minutes, and you’re done!

This egg casserole is a GREAT option for those of you who don’t have time to make breakfast! You get a ton of protein, and you can make it on Sundays for the whole week, and then reheat it and serve with fruit! We used to make this every week when we worked our corporate job!

Serves: 10 Servings

INGREDIENTS

2 tablespoons oil
8-10 mushrooms, sliced
2 teaspoon minced garlic
½ red onion, diced
2 bell peppers, diced
2 cups packed baby spinach, roughly chopped
10 eggs
⅓ cup coconut or almond milk
¼ cup hot sauce (optional)
salt and pepper
1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

DIRECTIONS

In a large skillet over medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon of oil. Add the mushrooms and sauté them for 4 minutes or until they start to brown. Add a small pinch of salt along withe onions and garlic and let cook for 2 minutes. Remove to a plate. Add the second tablespoon of oil, if needed, and sauté the peppers for 1 minute. Add in the baby spinach and allow it to wilt, remove from heat, set aside.
Generously spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Add the veggies (both the mushrooms and the pepper mixtures).
Position a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 375ºF if you are baking the casserole immediately.
In a large bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, hot sauce, and salt and pepper. Pour the egg mixture over the prepared veggies. Sprinkle with the cheese, if using it, and anther small pinch of salt and pepper.
Bake the casserole, uncovered, until the cheese melts, and the top gets in and golden, 45-50 minutes. Allow the casserole to cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

This one is a great option for meal prepping your lunches for the week, or an easy dinner!

Serves: 4 Servings

INGREDIENTS

2 medium chicken breasts, boneless skinless cut into ½ inch pieces
1 cup broccoli florets, frozen or fresh
1 small red onion, chopped
1 cup grape or plum tomatoes
1 medium zucchini, chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tablespoon italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper (optional)
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
½ teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cups cooked rice or quinoa

INSTRUCTIONS

Pre-heat oven to 450F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and set aside.
Place the chicken and veggies in the baking dish. Sprinkle all the spices and garlic evenly over the chicken and veggies. Drizzle with the olive oil.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the veggies are charred and chicken is tender.
Place 1 cup of cooked rice of choice into 4 individual meal prep containers. Divide chicken and veggies evenly on top of the rice.
Cover and store in the fridge for up to 5 days or freezer up to 2 months.

Healthy Cauliflower Fried Rice

Serves: 4 Servings

INGREDIENTS

1 head cauliflower, chopped into florets
1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
½ cup frozen peas
½ cup carrots, cubed
2 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon sesame oil
¼ cup low sodium soy sauce or liquid aminos
1 tablespoons light brown sugar (optional)
⅛ teaspoon ground ginger
Pinch red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons green onions, chopped

INSTRUCTIONS

Chop head of cauliflower into florets and place in food processor. Pulse until it starts to resemble rice; set aside.
Heat a large wok (or skillet) over medium heat and drizzle in sesame oil. Add onion, peas and carrots and saute until tender, about 2 minutes.
Meanwhile in a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and red pepper flakes; set aside.
Slide veggie mixture to one side of the wok and add in the beaten eggs, scrambling until cooked through and then incorporate with the veggies.
Stir in cauliflower “rice” and pour the soy sauce over top, mixing well. Cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes, until cauliflower is soft and tender.
Top with green onions, serve and enjoy!

How fun is this plaid shirt dress? It is super cute for when the temperatures start warming up, or with some OTK boots like these! This dress is under $20, and you could wear it with some ripped jeans for more of a tunic type of outfit!

Happy January! If there is anything that gets us motivated to workout each day, it is definitely fun workout clothes! I mean, what is better than some black and mesh?! It is the perfect amount of sexy and edgy, but is also polished an*d not too revealing. We love some variety of mesh leggings just because they are great for running around in after you leave the gym, without looking like you threw on a baggy outfit;)

Our favorites are obviously the ones under $100 that we pointed out above, but this pair of moto leggings we just got in black and are OBSESSED, and they come in a bunch of colors. Also, these black mesh ones (number 8) are great, too! We have them in black and love them!

We also recently got the grey mesh ones (number 4) and love the grey shade. It goes with everything!

Happy 2017! Hope y’all had the best end to 2016, and even better start to 2017! We shot this outfit a couple of weeks ago when it was FREEZING in Dallas, but it looks like it is supposed to cool down again this week, so we are getting ready to bundle up! This camel coat is older, but I found a few for y’all that are on SALE, YAY! Speaking of jackets, I had a few requests to do a post on jackets, so check the bottom of the post for more on that:)

I love wool wrap coats because they can be dressed up or down, and unlike the puffer coats, these are definitely more of a dressier look! This one and this one are similar to mine and would go with everything!

Under my jacket, I am wearing a great black turtleneck sweater with my favorite black jeans! You can never go wrong with all black;)

And, these OTK boots are the best! They do run a little small, but I LOVE that they are fitted and stay up on your leg!

PS- this gorgeous fishtail braid was done by our amazing hairstylist, Hair By Viviana in Dallas. She’s colors and cuts our hair, and she can also do amazing braids and up-dos!
