Happy Giving Tuesday! I wanted to share some ways you can give back to families in need or those who need help, especially during the holidays! See below for all of the ways you can give back, but before I share those, I wanted to share this look with you all, all from Nordstrom.
I love the way this cardigan fits and it is such a good neutral! It is actually on sale right now (wearing xs). I am wearing it with these black ripped jeans and these snakeskin booties (wearing size 7). Underneath, I am wearing this black lace cami in size s. I picked out this entire outfit online, and then was able to pick it up right from my car using in-store pickup.
Now, here are some ways to give back this holiday season:
Many of y’all may not know that we are superrrrr petite. It may not appear that way in our photos, but we are only 5’1″. Every time we meet someone in person for the first time, they are so surprised that we are as short as we are! There are a lot of trends like OTK boots, long duster cardigans, etc that can be a little more tricky to pull off as a more petite person. Today, we are teaming up with Bloomingdale’s to show you all that you can to totally rock some of these trends! We are sharing our tips on how to wear a duster, even if you’re petite like we are! This look is perfect for the holidays coming up, or a date night outfit! This yellow duster adds a great pop of color to this all black look and it is super warm. We paired it with our favorite faux leather leggings (the best!!), some suede OTK boots, and this black lace cami. All of these pieces from Bloomingdale’s can be worn with other stuff in your closet, so don’t think you have to wear it with just look! Some of our tips when wearing a longer piece of clothing, like this yellow duster, are:
avoid a floor-length duster: you want a little bit of space between you and the floor, so opt for one that hits your ankle or higher!
Happy Saturday! Hope you all are having a great weekend. We are SO glad that it is finally sunny, and not rainy out, and we are headed to the Texas State Fair today, which we are super pumped about! We have been pulling out our OTK boots, and despite missing the warmer temperatures, we love wearing our boots. This pair is the perfect pair for fall and winter because it is flat, and comes in black and a neutral color. We got our usual size, 6.5, and they fit perfectly! We paired it this this leopard bag that is SO perfect! Goes with all blacks and browns, and has the perfect amount of leopard. You can wear it on your wrist, or cross-body, or even on your shoulder!Of course, we added this grey pom beanie with it, which we love for dirty hair days, or trying to keep our head and ears warm. It also comes in a few other colors! And, since we feel like wearing OTK boots can be kind of tricky sometimes, especially if you are shorter like us (5’1″), we wanted to share some of our tips with you all!
Pair with a shorter dress, like this one, so enough of your legs are showing
Can y’all believe NYE is less than a week away?! It seems like we just started 2017. Okay, maybe not, but it has flown by for sure. In case you missed it, we shared some dresses for NYE in this post, but today, we are sharing a casual and cozy outfit that is still a little glam, but not as dressy. This look would be perfect for those of y’all staying in and having some friends over, or just chilling. You don’t have to be in sweats (which does sound amazing!) if you’re at home. This outfit is the perfect combination of casual and glitzy, without being too much! First, we have to talk about these gold flats. How FUN are these?! Perfect with a skirt or jeans! They run a little small for reference. They would also be cute with all black or white! This clutch is a perfect pop of blush, and we love how it doesn’t exactly match the flats, but it all works together so well. It has a really cool knitted texture to it, and would also be cute with all black or white. You could totally wear this bag into the spring and summer, too! This beanie is so cozy and it is cashmere, yes please! The grey just goes with everything and it’s on SALE!! We layered this eyelash cardigan on top of a black cami and some ripped jeans to pull the whole look together. It’s comfy, and you can totally layer down if you get too warm. This exact sweater sold out, but this one is similar and the same color!Sole Society is one of our go-to spots for all things accessories and shoes. They have a great selection of pieces at a great price point (usually under $100) and their stuff is just on point! Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. We ran our first 10K yesterday, and have definitely caught the runner bug, haha. We will probably not be running any major runs anytime soon, but a half is definitely our goal one day. In case you missed our post on our running tips, you can read that here. Since it is officially fall, we wanted to share a roundup of our fave cozy cardigans that you can wear all fall, and into winter!
Cardigans are a staple for fall in our books. You can wear them with jeans, leggings, shorts, dresses, etc, or you can even wear them to lounge around at home! We are all about them.
#1 is super cozy and you will just want to sleep in it!
We just got back from an incredible family trip in Grand Cayman, so this definitely feel like a Monday more than ever. Since it is Monday, and we have gotten a few requests to share our morning routine, we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to share ours! Before we get into our routine, we wanted to share this transitional fall look. We love pairing a cardigan with booties and shorts to transition into the cooler months. Especially in Texas, jeans are still not happening in the fall months, so these booties paired with this grey bag are a great way to style your favorite shorts. They are both super affordable and go with everything! We love Sole Society’s accessories because they have a wide range of styles for fall, and they have a TON of natural colors, which we always gravitate towards.
To be honest, with our schedules and line of work, it can be hard to have a consistent morning routine or schedule. We are both definitely creatures of habit and crave routine, and we feel that the more of a routine we have, the more consistent we can be with staying organized and disciplined. With that being said, it is totally okay to go off that schedule sometimes, like if you’re on vacation, or if you’re with friends or family. We both can be pretty type-A, so we don’t like going off schedule, but we are totally fine with it sometimes! We are both pretty similar with our routines and like to get up pretty early. We just feel like if we get our day started earlier, we are far more productive. Of course, that means you have to go to bed at a decent time, and with us, that doesn’t always happen. I know I tend to work late on my computer answering emails or finishing posts up, and then I do a major no-no, which is bringing my phone into the bed to finish up stuff on instagram (I know, so bad!) Anyways, if I do go to bed at a decent time (before 12), I will just wake up on my own around 6 or 7 AM. My body is just used to that now, so if I sleep past that, I feel like I slept so late, haha.
I will sometimes go straight to the gym after waking up if I am low on time (and when I say “I”, we are both the same with all of these). If I have a little more time, I will make some coffee and go to the gym, or I will make breakfast and sit down and actually enjoy it and have a slower morning. In college, I started doing that, and the morning is my FAVE time because the day has just started, and I truly love breakfast food. So, if I can, I love being able to get up, make some pancakes or a smoothie, and sit down and enjoy my breakfast while catching up on blog reading or news. I also drink hot water with lemon because I just love it and it has some great health benefits. FYI- I drink my coffee black, as in I use no sugar or milk. I know that is not tolerable for some people, so we shared our healthier recommendations in this post.
I also use this time to answer emails that need to be addressed (we are very good about staying on top of emails and try to answer within 24 hours) or finish up any blog posts or drafts due for that morning. I do find that if I don’t go to the gym first before having breakfast, I will tend to end up working too long (until like 10 or 11 AM).
We both workout pretty much every day. We will occasionally take a rest day, but since it is so much of our routine, we love being active. If we don’t go to the gym, we will take a class or go on a short run or walk outside. It just starts our day off on a great note, and we both just feel so much more productive and alert when we start our day off like that. Even when we worked our corporate jobs, we would wake up at 4:45 AM to workout before work.
Even when we are out of town, we have a similar routine. We will usually grab coffee before or after finding a gym or going on a run to start our day. We also ALWAYS eat breakfast. We wake up pretty hungry to start with, so we definitely have to grab breakfast somewhere to start our day. We do take some vitamins that we shared in this post.As far as what we read in the mornings, we follow some blogs on Bloglovin, or we will watch the TODAY show (love Kathie Lee and Hoda!). We also have a few news apps on our phones.
We hope that was helpful! We would love to hear about your morning routines.
