Denim shorts are one of our staples for spring and summer. We have had some of you all request some that are a little longer than the short ones you see floating around, so we thought we would round up some of our favorites.
Short
We usually opt for the shorter length, since we are on the shorter side (5’1″).
This pair (#1) is shorter and also has some stretch, so we love that they’re comfortable.
We just ordered this Agolde pair (#5) and went with a size 24. We are in between sizes 23 and 24 and just sized up for a looser fit. We love that they’re not overly distressed.
For more of a mid-length option, that is not super long, but not too short, we recommend this stretchy distressed pair (#2), which also happens to be affordable, too!
This darker pair (#6) is a great wash and not too distressed, so you can wear them with everything.
We actually just ordered #10 because they’re the newer version of the ones we had last year that we wore a ton. We have both sizes 24 and 25 in these.
Longer
If you want something even longer with some distressing on them, we recommend #3, and those are affordable, too!
With a little less distressing, we recommend pairs #7 and #11.
Bermuda Length
For shorts even longer that will hit you right above your knees, #4 is a good budget-friendly option. With a little less distressing, we love pairs #8 and #12.
In case you all didn’t know, we are 5’1″, so finding jeans that fit well can be a struggle, so we thought we would share some of our go to pairs that don’t stretch out, and fit perfectly, and see below for more!
Black Denim
If you’re looking for a black pair, #1 and #2 are both great options and come in the shorter lengths. We are size 0 or 24 short.
Basic Denim
For a non-distressed pair, we love #3 and #4 and are both the petite size 0/24 in them.
White Denim
As far as a white pair, we love this #5 pair, and we are size 24 short.
Denim Shorts
Shorts can be tricky to find, and our favorite pair is all sold out, but these pairs #6, #7, #8 are all great and run true-to-size.
Distressed Denim
For distressed jeans, we love #9, #11, and #12 because they’re super stretchy ( we are size 0 short). #10 and #13 are both more of a true denim, and fit true-to-size.
We are back with another Wellness Wednesday post for you all! We have been making some plant-based dishes for dinner that you all asked about, so we wanted to share some of the recipes with you all! Even if you are not plant-based, these are easy to make, and good to serve with fish or chicken, too!
Begin by roasting the squash: Heat the oven to 400 F, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Either slice the squash in half using a sharp knife and scoop out the seeds, or place the whole squash in the oven.
Bake for 40 minutes, and then flip over, and cook for another 10-15 minutes until you can pierce a fork all the way through.
Let squash cool, and then if you haven’t already cut the squash open, cut it open and scoop out the seeds.
Use a fork to gently pull the squash “noodles” from the skin.
For the sauce, heat a skillet and add the tomatoes with the liquid over medium heat for a couple of minutes.
Chop up the tomatoes and squash into smaller pieces and add them to the pan. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until they’ve softened.
Season with salt, pepper, red pepper flakes.
Combine the spaghetti squash with the sauce in a large serving dish, and serve!

Y’all know we are pretty petite at only 5’1″, so when we found these flare jeans from Walmart, we were SO excited! We love how they make you look so much taller, and really elongate your legs, which we can all benefit from, right?
We wanted to share some tips on how to style these kinds of jeans, in case you have a pair, or weren’t sure on how to wear them!
Hem them properly
You want them to be long, but not too long. In our case, we could have hemmed them a little shorter, but you still want them long enough!
Pair with heels
We suggest wearing a higher wedge or heel with these to make you legs look even longer. We wouldn’t recommend wearing a flat shoe with them.
Dress them up or down
In this outfit, we did a mix of casual and edgy. We paired this faux leather moto jacket, which is great for fall, and layered this yellow henley tee underneath. Both pieces can be mixed and matched with other outfits, too!
Pair with a blazer or jacket
We love how these jeans look with a moto jacket or blazer, depending on how casual or dressy you want to go. You can layer tees or sweaters underneath!
Keep it simple
We suggest keeping the outfit simple and minimal, meaning don’t combine too many trends in one outfit, so that you can really highlight the flare jeans.
We found these flared jeans and other staple fall pieces at Walmart. We love that we can find really cute pieces around under $30, yes please!! They also offer free two-day delivery on a lot of their items, and in-store pickup, which is so convenient!
We love denim on denim all year, especially in the summer! What is so great about denim is that it never goes out of style. Usually, we will wear some kind of basic tee with jeans, but sometimes, we love mixing it up and doing an all denim look.
Of course, there are ways to botch this kind of outfit and end up looking like you walked straight off a farm 😉 That is NOT what we are going for! We wanted to share some of our tips for styling an all denim look for you all.
Mix it up with different washes
When wearing denim together, we like opting for two different washes to break it up. In this case, we are doing a lighter washed denim button down shirt (this one is SO soft– wearing size xs) with some darker skinny jeans (wearing 00 short). You could also do the reverse, so a darker top or denim jacket, with lighter jeans.
Keep the denim to clothing, only
We do not suggest wearing any kind of denim accessories, like bags or shoes. It just is way too much going on in our opinion! We suggest neutral accessories, or even a pop of color, like red.
Stay away from too much “western” vibes
All denim can give you a “western” vibe, so we recommend not adding in too many western pieces like belts and boots. Of course, some cute booties or boots would be fine, but we don’t suggest adding in a western belt with western booties and all of that together, unless you’re going for that vibe 😉
Add neutral accessories
For this look, we added some neutral espadrille wedges and a tan tote bag that you can wear with any look. We like neutrals because it keeps the attention on the denim, and compliments it well.
Pair with different denim colors
Besides a typical light or dark denim wash, we think pairing a white denim jacket, skirt, or white jeans is really cute with other denim washes. You can also do the same with black jeans, or or really any colored denim!
This all denim look is from Express. They are our go to for all of our jeans because of how petite we are. Their petite styles and wide range of sizing is why they are our favorite spot! They offer short and longer lengths in their jeans, which is so convenient for shorter girls, like us, and some of you who may be taller.

Coming back from a trip, and because we get asked about this a lot, we wanted to write about drinking and consuming alcohol. We are not alcoholics, or have anything against it, but we both just don’t personally drink alcohol a lot. We do enjoy an occasional glass wine, but are sweets lovers, so we will indulge in that! We talked more about alcohol and drinking in this podcast episode.
To be honest, we were never major drinkers. Of course, in college, we had our fun drinking and going out, but once we graduated, we realized we didn’t really enjoy it as much as we used to. We don’t personally enjoy having a hangover the next day, or not being able to be productive, so we choose to not consume it a lot. There are healthier drink choices you can make, which we can go into in a little bit!
We have found that as we became more into our health, we just committed to a lifestyle of putting the best things we can in our bodies, and we just don’t feel our best drinking often. Of course, like we said, a glass of wine, or a cocktail once in a while is great, but if you don’t feel your best drinking, don’t feel pressured to do it.
There are so many other ways to have fun, without drinking. Of course, if you love drinking and enjoy it, then do what works for you! Nothing wrong with that. We get asked a lot how we handle it when people bring it up, and truth is, if people respect you and have enough security with themselves, they won’t question your choices or decisions. From our experience, it is people who are insecure that have to share their opinions or make you feel like a weirdo for not taking part in what everyone else is doing!
Also, if you surround yourself with more people that have a similar lifestyle to you, it will help a lot!
If you are going to drink, here are some of the drinks we recommend are:
Vodka with sparkling water and citrus like lemon or orange, or even mint and cucumber
Glass of wine
Glass of champagne
Mixed drinks on menu, but skip sugar!
Now, about this denim on denim look! This whole outfit is from Abercrombie, and we are super excited to share these white jeans with you all. They are the white jeans you have been on the hunt for. They are stretchy, have a little rip, and the perfect rise. We got a size 25 in them, and they’re on sale for $44!
This is the perfect kind of outfit to wear for spring travels or a date night! We have been wearing these white jeans from Abercrombie with everything and love how they fit. We love that all of their jeans come in “short” and “tall” lengths, so it is perfect for petites, or taller girls!
We paired it with this white lace cami and a perfect denim jacket. If it is still chilly by you, which it seems to be all over right now, we wanted to share some cozy fleece pieces that are great for spring to throw on with some jeans and leggings!
