With summer almost here, it can be tricky to figure out how to look put-together and casual, but not too casual. Know what we mean?! Sometimes you need a little jacket to throw on during the day, or for chillier nights, but it can be hard to wear them without looking too casual, or like you just threw on a random denim piece of clothing!
We are sharing how to dress up your favorite denim jacket with some new accessories from Sole Society that are perfect with any look because they are neutrals.
We love that almost all of their accessories and bags are vegan and under $100, which is the sweet spot for accessories in our book! Even though they are affordable, they really hold up even if you wear them all of the time.
PAIR WITH A DRESSIER SHORT OR SKIRT
One of our favorite ways to dress up a classic denim jacket, like this one, is to pair it with some “dressier” shorts like black ruffle pair! We wore a basic white v-neck tee underneath, but you could also do a silk cami for an even dressier look!
WRAP UP THE LOOK WITH SOME NEUTRALS
If you wear the denim jacket with some neutral accessories, you get a clean, polished look. For this outfit, we paired these criss cross cognac slides (so so comfy, btw, AND, they come in a few other colors like black!) and this cognac shoulder bag. These slides run tts (we are wearing size 6.5), and are great for traveling, and pair really well with some dresses or jeans, too!
The bag has a really fun woven shoulder strap, and also a longer strap you can wear crossbody!
THROW ON OVER A FLOWY DRESS OR JUMPSUIT
Sometimes, you want to wear that dress that may be kind over-the-top for dinner or a day date, but it is so cute, so you have to wear it! Our tip is to just throw on your denim jacket! Not only does it give the outfit a fun twist, but it dresses it down a lot, and looks so cute together. You could even throw on some booties with it, too! We love a dress like this one with denim.
WEAR DENIM ON DENIM
We don’t always take advantage of this, but when we do, we actually love it. It can be kind of tough to master without looking like a walking denim ad, but when done properly, it is SO fun! Our tips for this are to pair denims that are slightly different washes, like a darker wash and a lighter wash, or white jeans or black jeans with a regular denim wash.
Also, adding in some neutral accessories like these sandals and bag break it up, too!
