YES to florals! We have been major fans of floral print for as long as we can remember. There is something so refreshing about the print, especially now that is spring! You can wear floral all year, but it is especially trendy this spring. We have some tips on how to wear floral well, without looking like you are a grandma 😉
We are LOVING this floral print romper from LOFT. It is so easy to throw on and pair with some cute flats like this gold pair for brunch, dinner, a trip, or even graduation coming up! You could totally dress it up with a pair of wedges or higher heels.
This romper, and a lot of the other cute floral prints we found at LOFT come in all sizes ranging from petites to plus! We are wearing the xs petite size in this romper, and it fits perfectly!
It can be so tricky and tough to find pieces that fit us properly, since we are so petite! We love that LOFT carries all sizes, and ones that fit us the right way, especially when it comes to lengths in pants and skirts!
LOFT offers a lot of promotions often, so they always have a great deal going on, and also offer free shipping promotions, so keep your eyes peeled for those great deals!
Some other tips when styling floral are:
keep it neutral: in this case, we paired a neutral bag and flats
If y’all live in Texas, or somewhere warm, you know that summer is in FULL swing, meaning that is is HOT out! Sometimes, it does get chillier out, so a light jacket is needed, especially if you’re traveling! This red romper + this olive utility jacket is a great option for summer because you can layer up if it is cooler, or take off the jacket if it is warmer. This jacket is a great summer option (and all year) because it is not too heavy, and it can be worn with so many things!
This romper is such a great pop of color! We love it for summer, and it is super flattering. You can wear it with flats or wedges, like these blush ones we love!
Both of these pieces are from Express, which we are obsessed with! They have the best pieces for summer that are super affordable and cute. So many cute pieces to grab for summer trips!
Happy Tuesday! It definitely feels like a Monday, but we are not complaining about a shorter week! We are sharing a much requested topic: what to wear when traveling abroad. If y’all are like us, you probably overpack, and get so much anxiety when it comes to packing for any kind of trip, especially when it is overseas. It can be so overwhelming because you may not know what kind of stuff to bring or how you will fit ALL of it in just one suitcase! This romper is a great option for traveling because it is super comfortable, can be re-worn several times (over a swimsuit or just with flats), and doesn’t wrinkle easily. We paired the romper with these platform wedges (super cute with shorts or dress) and are the perfect heel height (3″). FYI-We have the “night taupe” color, but all colors are super cute! Also, can we talk about this basket tote? It is SO cute for summer, and has a longer strap to carry over your shoulder, too. And, now for our tips:
Bring a romper for dual use: as a cute, casual outfit, or over a swimsuit. PLUS: most materials don’t wrinkle easily!
We are finally in the summer months, and that means all of us will be showing more skin. With that comes anxiety for some of us because maybe your legs aren’t as toned as you want them to be, and that is totally okay because we have some tips for you! Obviously, you can’t get them exactly how you want them overnight because like anything else, it takes time and discipline, but I will say that it is worth it!
Before I get into our tips, I wanted to talk to you about this amazing yellow romper! It is one shoulder, which I love and it is super flattering. I feel like yellow is one of those colors that is flattering on anyone, and it is super fun with a good tan! And, it is $45, so it is a steal because it can be dressed up or down. This bag is a great bag for traveling or running errands and it is so comfy! These lace up sandals are also really comfy and have the perfect heel height for shorts or dresses/rompers.As far as legs go, there are some tips that you all can try out below. As long as you stick to a good workout schedule, and eat lean proteins and fresh vegetables and fruits, you will feel good AND look good. It is 90% of what you eat, and you can’t do burn off every single thing you eat. If you want lean muscles, you have to be lean from the inside out.HOW TO GET TONED LEGS:
lift weights
isolate by muscle groups ( quads, hamstrings, calves, glutes)
lift heavy enough (or do high reps with lower weights; we suggest 10-12 reps of moderate to heavy weight, and 20-25 reps for lighter weights.
do at least 20 minutes of cardio 3-5 times a week
eat mainly vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins.
cut back on starchy carbs like breads, grains, and potatoes.
We found all of these pieces at Nordstrom. They have the best selection of spring and summer pieces in their Young Contemporary section, all at different price points! We love that they have so many options, and they offer free shipping and returns, which we swear by. Also, if you haven’t used their in-store pickup feature, it is a game-changer!
Happy Thursday! We hope you all are having a great week. We have almost made it to the weekend! We just got back from an incredible birthday getaway in Miami that we can’t wait to share with you all. On that topic, we wanted to get a little more personal with you all, specifically about working and being so type-A. Before, that we wanted to share how much we LOVE this romper for summer. Of course, we all love rompers, but this one has embroidery AND it is off shoulder. It also comes in white, too.
You all have probably seen us wearing these sandals literally every day, well, because we have been. They don’t look comfortable, but they really are! One of us wore them to travel the other day, and our feet didn’t hurt at all. They also go with everything!Let us first off say how extremely grateful we are for you all. Without your support, none of this would be possible. We absolutely love getting to interact with you all and share stuff that you all find useful. We wanted to talk more about this because we know a lot of you can probably relate, even though you may not be a blogger. We have both mentioned that we are type A before, and can put a ton of stress on ourselves. For example, when it comes to Instagram and our blog, we both feel guilty if we don’t post as much as we feel like we should, or if we get caught up with real-life, and don’t snapchat or share enough throughout the day. We know it can sound kind of silly, but it is the truth. Recently, we have both been feeling extremely tired and just plain burnt out. Of course, it is understandable that that would happen eventually when we literally never take ONE day off. The truth is we love our job so much that it is so hard to just completely shut off, but there are repercussions. We are constantly on our phones, and probably not as present as we should be. We are always thinking of getting a picture of the cute scenery or snapping our yummy meal when we are out to eat. Even when we are on a trip, it is mainly for our blog and brand, so we are constantly glued to our phones, as in we just stare at our phones for 80% of the meal, and don’t say a lot to each other, haha.
We are so busy trying to move forward and move on to the next goal (reaching more people, growing our blog, working on the next post), that we often forget to celebrate the victories and things we have set goals to achieve. We have both been like this all of our lives, whether in school or at work. We are sure a lot of you who have the same personality can experience the same thing, so we wanted to share what we are going to try to do to help with this issue in hopes that it will keep us accountable. It sounds so harsh, but we never feel like we’ve gotten enough done. No matter how much we do throughout the day, we both feel like there is so much more we could have done. If we are at home, and just sitting on the couch watching tv, there is a 99% chance, we are on our phones scrolling through Instagram, planning our posts out, or on our computer answering an email. We literally don’t know how to decompress, and yes, it is an issue.
One of us went to see our therapist, and she suggested posting less on Instagram. I (Alexis) am very much a person of routine, so not posting as much as I do (I post a TON), gives me a ton of anxiety. It sounds so silly in theory, but that is how I feel. I know that nothing major will happen if I take half the day off, or a whole day, but I struggle with it. So, here are some of the things I am going to be trying (and Sam, too):
Take a walk outside for an hour WITHOUT any phones or technology
Take yoga once a week to take mind off of work
Post one less instagram at least once a week (eventually one day off)
Tell ourselves it’s okay if the emails don’t get answered the same day, or the blog posts don’t get done as planned
Take one day off a week of answering emails/blog posts
We hope that was helpful, and if you all have any tips to share, or you have experience dealing with this, let us know! We would love to hear your insight!
