Can we take a moment to appreciate that Dallas is finally getting fall weather?! It will actually me chilly enough this weekend to wear a scarf and sweater (insert praise emoji!) We have literally been sweating in all of our fall clothes every time we take pictures for the blog or instagram, so we can finally wear the outfits we have been posting. This knit scarf is not only so pretty, but it really keeps you warm! The color adds a feminine touch to any outfit, and can be worn wrapped several times, how we did, or you can just wrap it once, and let it hang long! We paired it with this velvet baseball cap (soooo cute), and major bonus: it hides dirty hair, yes please! We wore the scarf over some light layers, but it could also be worn over a thicker sweater. This cardigan is the same one you may remember us wearing in white. Love the bell sleeves and the lightness it has to it. The color also goes with everything! Of course, you can’t go wrong with a ripped pair of jeans with any outfit. This exact pair sold out, but this pair and this pair are super similar. To keep the outfit pretty neutral, we paired these booties with the outfit. They have a more pointed toe, so they make your legs look longer. This color also looks great with darker jeans, like black or grey. We are soooo glad that baseball caps are back in because 1. who had time to wash their hair? and 2. it hides a makeup-free face 😉 They also just look really cute! We found some really cute other prints of caps below:
It may appear like it is fall in these pictures, but in reality, we shot these on someone’s front lawn. haha. We are happy to report that the people who lived here did not come out of their house, and we successfully got all of our pictures without sweating through the vest. It was a close call, though! It was probably around 95 degrees, and we were out there posing in faux fur vests, but it is all good because we LOVE this look! This faux fur vest is peeerfect for fall and winter. You can wear it with SO many things. Our favorite way to style it is with all black, or even white. These black jeans go with everything and are super cute with this black bag and these suede booties. These booties are a great neutral color and what is so great about these is that they have a pointed toe, so they make your legs look way longer! They also have a little bit of a heel, which always helps! Now, can we talk about this vest. OMG, it is amazing. We actually lent it to our mom because it looked so adorable on her! We love that it has a two-tone color to it. It would really be cute with some blush or all-white! This black bag a lot of y’all were asking about. It not only fits so much in it, but it just goes with everything. We have it in tan, too, and absolutely love it! The shape is just perfect. Some of our favorite ways and tips to style a faux fur vest are:
In case y’all haven’t noticed, we are definitely OBSESSED with all of Sole Society’s accessories for fall and winter. They have an amazing selection of booties, bags, scarfs, and vests, all at a great price point! Another great thing about their pieces is that they really are durable, and last a long time!
It is finallyyyy cooling down in Texas! That means lots of light sweaters and fun vests! We are MAJOR fans of a faux fur vest for fall and winter. They just dress up an outfit and add a fun texture. This faux fur vest goes with blacks and browns, and what is the cutest with it, is some colored denim, like this pair!We layered the faux fur vest over this thinner sweater, which comes in several colors! We paired it with these colored jeans and this beaded clutch that has a longer chain to wear over your shoulder. The bag would also be super cute with an all-black look! The flats are so comfy and are super cute with jeans or leggings. We love the pointed toe and the fringe detailing on them. They run a little small for reference. Some of our other tips for dressing up colored denim are:
Hope you all had a great weekend! It seems like they are never long enough, right? We both spent most of the weekends with our boyfriends and attended a really cool charity event, Hope Fest, which was so fun! We can’t believe it is already October! Where did September go, and how is it already the middle of fall, aka closer to winter. It is still super warm here, and we are definitely not complaining about that at all. Speaking of fall, we absolutely do not follow that silly rule of “no white after Labor Day” We don’t even know who came up with that, but we think you can wear white all year long! Why not?!
We get a lot of questions on what our thoughts are about whites, so we thought we would share a way to wear white into fall and winter! This look is perfect for fall because it combines some light layers that don’t necessarily all match together, but just flow well, if that makes sense? We opted for a ripped white jean with a knit tank and light cardigan and some fun accessories like these olive mules and this black clutch! This cardigan is a great piece for fall because it is light and has really cute bell sleeves. We are wearing XS for reference. We have worn it with jeans, dresses, shorts, and leggings! Such a versatile piece! We layered the cardigan over this fringe knit tank (also comes in a darker color) and some white ripped jeans. Y’all know we are major fans of ripped jeans already 😉 To make the look a little more “fall-ish”, we added some olive tassel mules (so cute!) and this black clutch. Both pieces can be worn with so many other things and can be dressed up or down. Some of our tips on wearing white into fall and winter are:
You all may have noticed we have been spending a lot of time in Rockwall, Texas. Our parents actually moved from El Paso, Texas to Rockwall a couple of months ago, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled! Instead of being a 10-hour drive away, they are now only 45 minutes away, which is a total game changer! We are at their place all of the time, and honestly, we act like we are moving in sometimes, haha. We wanted to share some of our favorite things about Rockwall, and why we love having our parents so close to us. Before we get into that, we wanted to share this lightly layered fall look. This scarf is a great neutral color that can be worn with lighter jackets like this utility jacket, or thicker sweaters. We paired it with these adorable embroidered mules that add such a fun pop to any outfit. They also come in leopard! The brown saddlebag is also a great piece for fall because it matches everything and can be worn with black, too!We love this utility jacket because you can layer it over a white tank, like we did, or with thicker sweaters underneath! It looks great with dresses, shorts, leggings, and jeans! If y’all haven’t been to Rockwall before, and you live close to DFW, you all have to check it out! There is something so peaceful about it, and just slower-paced. They have a huge lake right as you enter the city called Lake Ray Hubbard, and it is so gorgeous! We haven’t had a chance to go on it yet, but you can rent kayaks, boats, paddle boards, and jet skis. They also have several restaurants on the lake, too! Of course, we have found some great spots to grab a bite that we are obsessed with. There are three places that we really like, and seem to go to on a frequent basis, haha.
Zanata : their pizza and salmon is SO good. Literally could eat here on a daily basis!
Pier 101 : they have really good steamed crab and crawfish or just fish with veggies and quinoa!
The Book Club Cafe : great for breakfast or coffee. They also have really good burgers!
Fireside Chicken and Tacos : y’all know we love roasted chicken, and this place is delicious and super easy! You can also get tacos and other stuff, too!
Chills360: this ice cream place has rolled ice cream that is SO freaking bomb.
Fall is here, and normally we are not major fans of fall, but this year, we are actually kind of excited about it! We wanted to share some of our favorite fall activities that we are hoping we get to do this year. Before we get into some of the activities we are looking forward to, we wanted to share an easy transitional outfit for you all that live in Texas or California, where it will be pretty warm for the next couple of months. We love pairing some denim shorts with a basic tee and a fun bootie or mule, like these leopard ones. They look super cute with jeans, too! We paired them with this grey cross-body bag and this plaid scarf that you could throw on when it gets chillier out!We love mixing plaid and leopard together. It just works so well together! So, now for our favorite fall activities!
Apple Picking: we have only done this when we were younger, but we haven’t been able to find a spot near us in Dallas. If y’all know of any, let us know!
Pumpkin Patch: can’t wait to go and pick out a pumpkin, and take pictures there, of course!
Drive-In Movie: never done this before, but it looks SO fun! And, you can bring your own snacks and lay down, win-win!
Carving Pumpkins: totally a must! We haven’t done this since we were in college, but this is so fun to do!
Bake A Fall Dessert: we are totally obsessed with anything pumpkin or apple-filled, so we can’t wait to bake a ton! See some fall-recipe ideas here.
Grab Food/Drinks On A Patio: when it is finally nice out in Texas, we love grabbing some food or drinks on a patio. We shared our favorite patios in Dallas in this post.
Attend A Football Game: we are both major football fans. We could easily watch football all weekend-long and have ESPN on all of the time. We love going to a college game, or even NFL. We are UT alumni, so we grew up going to football games! See our game day outfit ideas in this post.
Make S’mores: who doesn’t love s’mores, and making them is even more fun!
Fall Hike: we don’t really get changing leaves in Texas, but it still so peaceful to go on a short hike outside when the weather is this nice. We shared our favorite places to walk in Dallas in this post.
