Happy Wednesday, babes! We have another requested topic from y’all: how we online shop on a budget. It may seem obvious to some, but there really are some good tips that we have adopted over the years. Speaking of budget, one of our favorite places to shop all thing accessories and shoes is Sole Society. We literally LOVE every single thing they have and they are so affordable. These sandals are perfect of spring and the color is so flattering!
We paired it with our favorite denim shorts (wearing size 24) and this white tank that is SO comfy! This bag is a great neutral and the strap is adjustable! Of course this pom hat is so fun. You can wear it with a regular outfit, like this one, or to the pool/beach.
And, now for our tips on shopping online on a budget:
We had been wanting to share some of these ideas for a while now, since we eliminated coffee. We had been getting some questions on it, so we wanted to talk about why we eliminated it, and what methods we are using to get energy now! Before we get into that, we wanted to share this dressed up short look that is perfect for date night or a night out with some girlfriends! We paired these black shorts (also come in blush) with a suede moto jacket and this ivory cami we have been wearing on repeat! We paired it with one of our favorite block-heeled sandals (so comfy) and love the pop of color! These fit TTS!This jacket is a great piece year-round and can be dressed up or down! So, a lot of you are probably wondering why we eliminated coffee. And, the answer isn’t super simple, but basically, we both are suffering from Adrenal Fatigue, so we eliminated it to help with that and our anxiety, and it really has helped a TON. At first, it was not easy, but we feel so much better. We are sleeping better, feel less anxious, have less headaches, and better digestion. Of course, we are not saying to eliminate it, but for us, it was a good move. We will still have decaf a lot, just because we love the taste of coffee! For energy, here is what we have been doing:
Eat whole, nutrient-filled foods like vegetables, lean protein, whole grains, etc.
Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. The sun FINALLY came out yesterday, and it was amazing. Y’all, we have literally had rain for over a week, and it was literally starting to get so depressing. We are both headed on a short little getaway together that is much needed. You all probably can tell that we usually will go on trips ( we traveled a ton last spring and summer for the blog) a lot, but the last time we took a trip that wasn’t work-related was like… never, haha. We know that sounds SO silly, but literally almost everything we do is related to work in some way or another. We are pretty burnt out, so we decided to take a mini vacay that allowed us to really slow down. We wanted to kind of open up a little about that, but before we do, we wanted to talk about this spring outfit that is just perfect and SO easy! The main star of this outfit: the blush satchel bag. LOVE.This bag is just the perfect bag for spring, and really, all summer! It holds a good amount, and we just love the detailing on it! We paired it with these suede peep-toe booties that are so comfy and the perfect color for spring and summer– such a good neutral!
We paired one of our favorite dresses (super flattering) with an olive utility jacket, which is a great piece for layering, and a light, floral scarf. These are all great pieces to throw on because you can strip down as it gets warmer out! And, now for our main topic: honesty hour about…Instagram. We want to preface this by saying that we LOVE what we do, and are eternally grateful for all of you all, especially those of you who have been following us for a long time. If you all aren’t bloggers, you probably haven’t noticed anything funky with Instagram, and trust us, if we weren’t so immersed in the social media world, we probably wouldn’t have, either. Instagram has gotten kind of funky recently in probably the last year, specifically the last couple of months. They changed the feed so it is not chronologically in order (similar to Facebook), and now people’s posts are just kind of all over the place. It doesn’t matter what time of day you post, some of your followers will either not see the post, or it will just get “hidden” somewhere. It can honestly be so discouraging on our ends. Obviously, our job unfortunately places a lot of weight and focus on numbers (follower amounts, likes, etc), and in turn, we kind of use those numbers to rate our “success”, if that makes sense. It sounds so silly, we know, but it is kind of the reality. Because of this new algorithm, and people’s posts not being seen, there have been opportunities for brands and influencers to purchase “likes” and followers. Of course, like any other industry, comparison is a real thing. Trust us, we have read countless articles and have tried to not get caught in the “comparison trap”, but if you’re already in a down mood, and the comparison mood crawls up on you, it i just not a good combination, haha.We totally understand that social media is advertising, and like any other business, there are costs associated with marketing, etc. So, in this case, we can understand that brands paying for false engagement can be seen as a business cost, but it can be frustrating for influencers and brands, like us, that choose to not go that route. You are, of course, going to compare yourself, as are brands that you could potentially be working with. Again, we want to express how grateful we are for all of you that support us and send us super sweet, encouraging messages. It truly means the world to us and makes our days and weeks! We definitely try and focus that energy on the positives, but we just wanted to be more honest about it since we feel like nobody really talks about it.In case you have not been seeing a lot of our posts on Instagram (we did get a lot of messages from you girls saying that, in fact, you were missing a ton of our posts), if you “like” and comment something on our pictures more frequently, you should start seeing more of our posts in your feed. Some of you all told us you tried that, and it actually worked, so that is really encouraging!
You can also follow along with ALL of our outfits at adoubledose.com/outfits for Alexis, and adoubledose.com/instagram for Samantha! In case you want to check out where these bags and shoes are from, or some similar, super cute pieces, Sole Society is hands down our fave brand for accessories and shoes. Seriously, the cutest stuff! Our mom is even hooked on their pieces, too! 😉
Since tank top season is here, and that means we all want those sculpted arms to show off! We wanted to share some of our tips for getting sculpted arms with you all! We will start off by saying that it takes time and effort. You can’t give up after a few days, or even weeks. This tank is the perfect way to show off those hard-earned guns, or that great tan you just got (even if it is all from sunless tanner!) Before we get into our tips for sculpted arms, we wanted to share a little bit about this super cute and casual look for summer! This tank is SO soft and it is $22. It comes in 3 other colors, and is just a great, all-around tank. These wedges are SO comfy. We seriously live in them, and wear them with everything! These cutoffs you all have probably seen a zillion times on our instagrams. They are AMAZING! They come in a lighter wash, too. They fit true-to-size, and are $68! HOW TO GET SCULPTED ARMS:
lift weights
isolate by muscle groups (arms, back, etc.)
make sure you are lifting heavy enough weights (with good form)
do at least 20 minutes of cardio 3-5 times a week
eat mainly vegetables, fruits, and lean proteins.
cut back on starchy carbs like breads, grains, and potatoes.
Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. We are in El Paso visiting our parents for a Jewish holiday, Passover, that starts tonight! Our parents are going to have people over, and to be honest, we are not usually fans of a long Seder, haha. We just want to get to the part where we have dinner;) We are both probably going to wear some kind of dress or skirt (more Easter and spring dress ideas in this post). We have had gorgeous weather this past weekend, so although we worked a lot, we did get to hang out in the sun a little bit, and get some color! This outfit is so basic, but it is so easy. Sometimes, simple is just better. We feel like it is one of those outfits where you feel like you need to add something to it, like a necklace, or another accessory, but this is simple and works perfectly. Who wants to mess with easy and comfy? This v-neck is only $17! Can you believe that? You can wear it with so many things, but we love it with these jeans shorts. It comes in several colors and has a distressed look to it, which we love. We are wearing an XXS in it, but size up if you want a looser fit! These slingback sandals are super comfy, even though they don’t have a platform, and go with everything because of their awesome neutral color. If y’all can’t tell, we wear these almost every day. These earrings are a fun pop to any outfit, and the white is a fun and clean pop of color!Shop more v-neck favorites below:
When spring and summer roll around, we are major fans of not only white, but embroidery, too! If it has embroidery on it, we want it;) This top is super cute AND affordable! It is under $20, and has super cute detailing. This top does fit a little cropped, and runs a little small, so keep that in mind when you’re considering sizing! A good white pair of jeans is always a necessity! We honestly wear white jeans all year long, but the perfect time to pull them out is spring or summer. This pair is a great pair because it has a few rips in the knees, and they’re stretchy. These wedges are another great addition for really all year. We own these in tan and black, and love them with everything. They are comfortable because of the big platform, but we will say, don’t expect to wear these for 10+ hours without any rubbing or anything. Like any heel, they do start to rub after a long time of walking around.
