Tips For Getting Through A Busy Holiday Season

It is almost Thanksgiving, which means holiday season is here, and that equals pure craziness and chaos! We don’t know about you, but we have been busy bees, and we would be lying if we told you we haven’t been stressed and had breakdowns every couple of days. I (Alexis) shared a little bit about this in Instagram stories, but my anxiety has been at an all-time high, and I am not proud of it.

It feels like there is not enough time in the day, and I feel like I am just running from thing to thing, and just going through the motions. I know this is just temporary, but I wanted to share some things I have been trying to implement in hopes that it will ease my anxiety a little bit, and may help you all, too!

Take time to meditate + make lists

This is something I have been good with at times, and horrible with at times. Recently, I have made zero effort to meditate, or get my head right, which is not okay. I end up working crazy hours, and then wonder why I feel anxious and stressed, haha. Well, DUH!

In the past few days, I have started to meditate in the mornings by using either an app like Calm, or just finding a short video online. I have only been doing it 2-5 minutes, just because that is all I can do right now, but it is better than nothing, right?

I also love making a list of the things I MUST do, and the things that I WANT to do. Most of the time, I try to do it ALL, and that is just not possible.

Go on walks/ be outside

Going on walks always helps me to clear my head, and really focus on what is around me, like sights and smells, and to let my anxious thoughts pass. Whatever helps you clear your head, whether it is yoga, running, or the gym, is super important to do!

Make time for friends and family

A major one, and obviously not rocket science, but it is often overlooked. When I get busy, I tend to let this fall, and so I have been making an effort to keep my calendar filled with social activities and family. I ALWAYS feel better when I am with family and friends, and I think most people would agree!

About this look: it is SUPER affordable and it is so comfortable, more importantly. This waffle pullover (only $19) is so comfortable (wearing size S) and I love it with these ripped jeans, which are SO stretchy and comfy (wearing size 0), These leopard sneakers (size 7) are such a cute find, and surprisingly comfortable to walk in for long periods of time. I found all of these pieces from Walmart, and I love that everything they have is budget-friendly, and most things ship free over $50, so you can get your items fast and for free!
