Spring is almost here, well, kind of! We had some of you who wanted to see some spring workwear dresses you can wear to the office or to Easter, or any occasion. We love a good pop of colors, so we rounded up some of our favorite dresses in an array of colors.
We have been getting SO many requests for workwear ideas, so we created a little capsule for winter for you all to mix and match pieces for work, or with regular clothes for every day! PS- a lot of these are currently 40% off!
TOPS:
We love a good white blouse. It goes with everything and you can wear it under cardigans or blazers!
A white sleeveless blouse is great for all year, and this one you can wear under a cardigan or blazer.
We found too many shoes we liked for work and every day. The tan loafers are super comfy and classic, and we love these Tory Burch ballet flats with any look. The pink color is so great.
We don’t get to share a ton of workwear, but it is a goal of ours to share more because it is something that everyone needs ideas for, and we get so may requests to share more work pieces, so we are super pumped for today’s post! Even if you don’t get this dressed up for work, we all need a more dressed up look at some point, right?
We wanted to share how you can take a basic black dress and take it from day to night! Whether you’re going from work to happy hour or a dinner with girlfriends or your significant other, you will want something that brings it down a notch from business-y, to more fun!
We paired the black dress with some leopard pointed flats for the work/daytime look. These flats are perfect for work because they are so comfy, and add a fun pop to any outfit. You can also wear them with jeans or leggings on the weekends!
This black tote is a great carry-all. You can fit all your purse necessities in there, along with a laptop. Also, great for traveling or for the beach/pool.
For the evening look, we paired this same black dress with this gorgeous purple suede moto jacket, which is amazing! We are wearing xs in both pieces. You can wear this jacket with dresses and shorts into spring and summer, too. This color is so perfect for spring, but we also think you could wear it year-round!
We found all of these great workwear pieces at Nordstrom. They have so many good options at different price points, and the best part is they offer free shipping and returns, AND they have in-store pickup, which we use pretty much every week! It is just so convenient.
We get so many questions about several things: one of them is workwear ideas, which we have shared some in this post and this post. We love this dress for work, or any occasion you have coming up! It is super flattering, and comes in black, too. We love it paired it with this black cardigan and these pointed heels! We are wearing the smallest size in it for reference. On a completely unrelated note, we wanted to share some plant-based recipes we have been loving, or plan on trying! Not going to lie, we always heard “plant-based”, and immediately dismissed it. We thought, “But, how do you get your protein?” It wasn’t until we started not feeling well for a while, that we decided to try it out and see if we saw any changes. We can honestly say we feel so much better. We don’t feel 100%, but it is a step in the right direction. We aren’t focused on protein amounts, just getting and feeling better. You can listen more in our most recent podcast episode.
We are planning on doing a whole youtube video soon on what we eat in a day, but for now it is mainly lemon water and celery juice in the mornings, followed by a smoothie or fresh fruit. Lunch is a big salad or raw veggies and some fruit, and we graze and snack most of the day with fruit, dates, veggies, etc. Dinner is basically the same (a lot of fruits and veggies, sometimes cooked!). It takes a lot to get full and satisfied! Here are some recipes we have been making regularly, or want to make:
Many of you all may not know it, but we worked in corporate America about 5 years ago. Our initial job out of college (University of Texas at Austin- Hook ‘Em!) was working in public accounting at Ernst & Young. We both majored in Management Information Systems, so we were not typical accountants. One of us worked in IT Auditing, and the other in Fraud Technology Services. We honestly never thought we would work in something so technical, but it was our dream job we had wanted when we were in school. Interviewing for jobs can be SO stressful and nerve-racking, but once we got our internships with our top choice, we were so excited! We interned for Ernst & Young the summer after our junior year of college in Dallas (where we now live). We had such good experience, and had so much fun that summer! We loved getting to put together cute, but functional outfits for work.
After our summer internships, we accepted full-time offers with the same company, and were so relieved and excited for the next steps in our career. We moved to Dallas in August of 2013, and have obviously been here ever since!
While at our jobs, we would wear a lot of outfits that looked just like this one! Something cute, but also professional. We would shop at Express for most of our workwear because they had such great pieces, and they are affordable.
This outfit is perfect for work, and you can mix and match these pieces with other things in your closet like jeans or leggings! This striped blouse is so flattering because of the vertical stripes, and could be worn with a colored skirt or pair of pants as well. This black skirt is comfortable and cinches at the waist, which is so cute!We both worked our jobs there for a year before transitioning into our own gig;) Although, we had a great experience working there, and have nothing but positive things to say about the company as a whole, it was not for us. We are both very creative at heart, and driven, so we had always envisioned doing something of our own.
Once we left our corporate jobs, we did personal training for 6-7 months, and then worked on eventually launching our own food product, Double Dose Bakery. We also decided to launch our blog at the same time (because we are crazy and like to put a ton of stress on ourselves!) We will say it was quite the journey, but we wouldn’t change any of it!
After a year of working on both businesses, we had to make the very tough decision of choosing one. The food product was so successful and took off way more than we ever thought it would, but since didn’t see ourselves pitching and selling it in the methods we needed to do to be successful, we ultimately had to let it go.
It was SO tough, and one we thought about over and over, but we still feel like it was the best decision for us, and we truly love what we do. It doesn’t feel like work, and we LOVE getting to connect with you all. We couldn’t be more grateful for each and every one of you!
