As y’all can tell, we are pretty much obsessed with camo. Whether it is a tee, pants, or a sweatshirt, we will rock it! It is one of those prints that can be mixed and matched with other prints like stripes, leopard, and plaid. You can make it more girly with some blush or pink, or just pair it with a solid like white or black.
You all may have noticed we have been spending a lot of time in Rockwall, Texas. Our parents actually moved from El Paso, Texas to Rockwall a couple of months ago, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled! Instead of being a 10-hour drive away, they are now only 45 minutes away, which is a total game changer! We are at their place all of the time, and honestly, we act like we are moving in sometimes, haha. We wanted to share some of our favorite things about Rockwall, and why we love having our parents so close to us. Before we get into that, we wanted to share this lightly layered fall look. This scarf is a great neutral color that can be worn with lighter jackets like this utility jacket, or thicker sweaters. We paired it with these adorable embroidered mules that add such a fun pop to any outfit. They also come in leopard! The brown saddlebag is also a great piece for fall because it matches everything and can be worn with black, too!We love this utility jacket because you can layer it over a white tank, like we did, or with thicker sweaters underneath! It looks great with dresses, shorts, leggings, and jeans! If y’all haven’t been to Rockwall before, and you live close to DFW, you all have to check it out! There is something so peaceful about it, and just slower-paced. They have a huge lake right as you enter the city called Lake Ray Hubbard, and it is so gorgeous! We haven’t had a chance to go on it yet, but you can rent kayaks, boats, paddle boards, and jet skis. They also have several restaurants on the lake, too! Of course, we have found some great spots to grab a bite that we are obsessed with. There are three places that we really like, and seem to go to on a frequent basis, haha.
Zanata : their pizza and salmon is SO good. Literally could eat here on a daily basis!
Pier 101 : they have really good steamed crab and crawfish or just fish with veggies and quinoa!
The Book Club Cafe : great for breakfast or coffee. They also have really good burgers!
Fireside Chicken and Tacos : y’all know we love roasted chicken, and this place is delicious and super easy! You can also get tacos and other stuff, too!
Chills360: this ice cream place has rolled ice cream that is SO freaking bomb.

Not just love, obsessed! This camo bomber hoodie is so soft and definitely a step up from a basic hoodie! These booties are literally all we have been wearing recently. They go with everything! We are wearing the olive color, but they also come in 2 other colors. The grey tee comes in a pack of 3 and is SO soft, and the ripped jeans are a great, overall pair with minimal rips. These cutoff shorts are 30% off right now and perfect for fall. We love them with some booties, like these! Can’t go wrong with all denim. A chambray top is a must for layering in the fall! These slip ons and this olive bag are great accessories to pair with any outfit! How adorable is this little green bag. We also have it in a nude color! It is a dupe for the Chloe bag at a fraction on the price! We wore this adorable pom pom dress when we were in Grand Cayman. A lot of y’all asked about it, and it is perfect for a warm getaway! This palm print cami is a fun little top to pair with jeans or shorts for those of y’all who are still experiencing warm temps! We are obsessed with this crossover dress that comes in a sleeveless version as well. This black bag is a great fall bag and it’s marked down right now! How cute are these eye slip ons? We love them with shorts or jeans in the fall. They would also be super cute with some liquid leggings! A lot of y’all were asking about these moto leggings. We got them last year and they are a MUST. The olive is a great neutral, but we will definitely be getting them in black this year, too. We are wearing the smallest size for reference. This is that same foldover dress we shared above in olive. This one comes in 6 colors and we have it in black and grey, too! Love it with a denim jacket and some booties. If y’all are looking for some fall transitional outfit ideas, this is a great one! This grey v-neck is super comfy and lightweight, so it is great with shorts and a some peep-toe booties. Also, this bag is under $50 and goes with literally everything! As much as we love heels (we are only 5’1″), we also love a flat. These strappy sandals are super cute with shorts or cuffed jeans! Who doesn’t love a cozy lounge outfit to hang around, especially on the weekends?! This cardigan is one you’ve probably seen a ton on our instagrams because it is so lightweight and cozy! We love it with these lace shorts and this heathered tank! Love a good off shoulder top like this with jeans! How fun is this set for a vaca?
You can’t go wrong with a fun printed top like this one with jeans!
Love a good striped top with shorts or jeans. The detailing on this one is super cute!
Who doesn’t love a comfy t shirt dress to throw on with some booties or sneaks?!
Fall is here, and normally we are not major fans of fall, but this year, we are actually kind of excited about it! We wanted to share some of our favorite fall activities that we are hoping we get to do this year. Before we get into some of the activities we are looking forward to, we wanted to share an easy transitional outfit for you all that live in Texas or California, where it will be pretty warm for the next couple of months. We love pairing some denim shorts with a basic tee and a fun bootie or mule, like these leopard ones. They look super cute with jeans, too! We paired them with this grey cross-body bag and this plaid scarf that you could throw on when it gets chillier out!We love mixing plaid and leopard together. It just works so well together! So, now for our favorite fall activities!
Apple Picking: we have only done this when we were younger, but we haven’t been able to find a spot near us in Dallas. If y’all know of any, let us know!
Pumpkin Patch: can’t wait to go and pick out a pumpkin, and take pictures there, of course!
Drive-In Movie: never done this before, but it looks SO fun! And, you can bring your own snacks and lay down, win-win!
Carving Pumpkins: totally a must! We haven’t done this since we were in college, but this is so fun to do!
Bake A Fall Dessert: we are totally obsessed with anything pumpkin or apple-filled, so we can’t wait to bake a ton! See some fall-recipe ideas here.
Grab Food/Drinks On A Patio: when it is finally nice out in Texas, we love grabbing some food or drinks on a patio. We shared our favorite patios in Dallas in this post.
Attend A Football Game: we are both major football fans. We could easily watch football all weekend-long and have ESPN on all of the time. We love going to a college game, or even NFL. We are UT alumni, so we grew up going to football games! See our game day outfit ideas in this post.
Make S’mores: who doesn’t love s’mores, and making them is even more fun!
Fall Hike: we don’t really get changing leaves in Texas, but it still so peaceful to go on a short hike outside when the weather is this nice. We shared our favorite places to walk in Dallas in this post.
It may be September, aka “fall-ish”, but if you live in Texas, or somewhere warmer, it is going to be warmer out for at least the next couple of months. September can be kind of an awkward/transitional month, so we wanted to share how we would style three different shoe options, and how you can wear them depending on what your weather is (cooler or warmer).Since it is too warm for boots, we love a transitional bootie that you really can wear all year, but especially in the fall. They are super comfy, and can be worn with dresses, jeans, shorts, and leggings. We love a peep toe version for more of these transitional months because you can still show off your cute pedicure and tan. This one in particular is actually really comfortable, despite the height it gives you. The olive color is a great neutral and something different than the typical tan or browns. This one also comes in a few other colors.
We styled these booties with some dark ripped jeans and a grey v-neck tee. We love this outfit for a casual date night, traveling, or just to run some errands.
If you’re looking for a closed-toed bootie, this dark green pair is a great option. It is also a good neutral and can be worn with shorts, jeans, and leggings. We love that these have a flat heel, so they’re comfy to run around in all day.We styled these booties with some cuffed denim shorts and a light sweater, perfect to transition into fall! They also look super cute with jeans! Not going to lie, we were not totally on board with the mule trend when it started last year, but now, we absolutely LOVE them! This pair is super cute because they’re embroidered. We love these with jeans or with some black leggings. You can dress these up or down! They would be super cute with a black dress and denim jacket, too.DSW had a variety of shoes (our favorite is booties) to help you transition into the fall months. They have tons of brands and styles for everyone in your family, you will absolutely find something you’ll love. This post was created in partnership with DSW. All opinions expressed in the post are my own and not those of DSW.
When you think about bloggers and blogging, you probably don’t think of it as a brand specifically, or at least we didn’t. We wanted to talk today more about blogging, but specifically, viewing yourself as a brand. In case you missed our podcast recently, we shared some tips for starting a blog, and we also talked about branding, and how important that is. We had a few requests to go into more detail, so we are excited to chat more about it with you all! Before we get into that, we wanted to talk about this super easy and SOOO comfy outfit, perfect for transitioning into fall. This v-neck sweater is incredibly soft and goes with everything! We always gravitate towards grey because it goes with blacks and browns and is just a flattering color on everyone. You all will seriously not want to take this one off! These jeans are a great dark color and they have just the amount of rips in them, without being too much. These kicks are more for athleisure, and not working out, but that means they are acceptable to pair with jeans and a tee or sweater, without looking frumpy! They also look super cute with black leggings. This bag is a great everyday bag, and it actually holds a lot in it! We love that it has the round metal handles, but it also has a long strap so if you’re not feeling carrying the bag in your hands, you can throw it over your shoulder.Okay, now for moving onto the main topic we talked about earlier! This really applies to any industry, whether you’re a blogger, you work for yourself, you work for a larger company, etc. Think about when you’re at an event, dinner with friends, meeting new people at a networking event, you will most likely be talking about your career at some point. It is so important (at least to us) to always be representing yourself and your personal brand in a professional and positive way. Of course, there are times you are going to want to vent or blow off some steam from something that has happened or bothered you, but it is also important to remember that you will leave an impression, especially if they are people you haven’t met before, or don’t know that well. People will probably remember positive things, but they will most definitely remember negative things that you say or do.You never know who is around you, or who may know someone that is potentially connected to you, so it is always good to keep these things in mind! You all may notice that we also try and respond to you all on social media and emails. We are huge on interacting and engaging with you all. Without you all, we wouldn’t be able to do this for a living, and we would feel like we are talking to a computer or phone screen, haha. While it can be difficult and time-consuming to feel like we are always glued to our phones, it is really a priority for us to answer you all at the end of the day. It is always so amazing to us that some of y’all don’t expect us to answer you because of course we would! We are not saying we are anyone special or famous, by any means, but responding and stuff like that is part of your representation as a personal brand, and also how you respond. September can be a tricky month to shop and dress for. Nordstrom is a great spot to find affordable and super versatile pieces to transition into fall with. They offer free shipping and returns, which is a total game changer! { Grey V-Neck Sweater | Dark Wash Jeans | Black Bag | Black Sneakers | Sunglasses | Nail Color | Lip Color ” Life of The Party”| Cartier Love Bracelet |BRACELETS: David Yurman Cable Bracelets here, here, and hereand Cartier Love Bracelet | RINGS: David Yurman Ring here and here | WATCH: Michele Deco Watch }
