I have to say, I don’t normally run around in crop tops or sports bras. I just feel so awkward like that, haha. BUT, with that being said, they are still super cute for some pictures, and if you’ve been working hard in the gym, why not show it off? I think it’s more acceptable (at least to me) when you have a flannel button up, or even a chambray shirt tied around your waist to kind of cover up more of your tummy area, if that makes sense?
I probably will still not walk around like this on a typical day, but it I love the look of it! Maybe I will surprise myself one day and wear this!
If you all haven’t noticed by now, we are both major fans of liquid leggings. I love this pair because they fit GREAT and they have zippers on the bottom, so they’re super edgy and can be worn with so many things!
I love the cut of the crop top, and the back is to DIE for. It would be super cute under a open-back top to show off the detail in the back!
Also, these Puma shoes are so cute. Every time I post them, I get a ton of compliments, or even when I am just wearing them out. They’re super affordable, but do run kind of small, so I recommend sizing up a half size!
And, since we are on the topic of working out, we get a ton of questions every week about what we eat, what we do to workout, etc. We share a roundup of our workouts and eats every Sunday or Monday, so be sure to check those out. Here is this week’s post! As always, feel free to email us with any questions! We are by no means experts, but we love to share what works best for us!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you all have a great Thursday! Xo
Since we literally wear a chambray shirt at least once a week, we knew we had to share some ways we love to incorporate them into any season. They are SO versatile, and can be worn in so many ways. No repeating outfits here! Just kidding, nothing wrong with repeating outfits, but you won’t need to when you see how many ways you can style this one button up!
We have a few different shades of chambray button ups we like to wear, so here are the ones we love, as well as some other options that we think are flattering and fit well!
This one and this one are both from J.Crew and a classic one. They come in petite, too, which is great if you’re smaller like we are!
I love this one from the GAP because it’s short-sleeved, so it’s great for spring and summer.
This one has a dark western feel to it, so I love it with more denim, or even a white pair of jeans!
This shirt is from Madewell, and I have heard great things about it!
There is something about a great outfit that just gets us so motivated to go to the gym. We will admit that even we have days that we are literally dragging ourselves to the gym. While we do LOVE working out and staying fit, we definitely have our days where that motivation is lacking.
When we are feeling like the gym is the last place we want to be, we will usually pick out a cute outfit (usually something with some sort of mesh) like this tank. There is something about mesh that we just both love so much. It is kind of revealing and spices up the outfit without being too much, you know?Another thing we take into account a ton is how affordable the pieces are. Who wants to spend an arm and leg on something that could get ruined during an intense workout? Of course, that doesn’t mean you wear a trash bag, though! What we love about Old Navy’s activewear line is that it is all SO affordable and #builtforplay! Most of the pieces are all under $20 or $30. How cool is that? I mean, look at how cute these pieces are!
I love these black crops because black just goes with everything. Also, since my tank and these leggings are both part of the “run” activewear line, they have a smooth, quick-drying compression fabric perfect for getting your sweat on! Even though they are black, they also have a “Superior Go-Dry Shade” wicking technology with built-in sun protection. I do love black, but sometimes, I can get so hot in it! It was extremely hot when we were shooting this look, and these were super breathable.
I also love these mesh panel leggings!
How cute is the back of this tank? I LOVE the mesh in the back and the top is super light and breathable, which is key when you’re getting all sweaty!
Speaking of getting sweaty, I am far from a runner! I would love to someday run a marathon of some sort, or something of that level because I think it is such an accomplishment, and since I don’t enjoy it that much, I think it would be even more important for me to do at some point.
For my workouts, I usually like to start off with some cardio (either on the stair master) or on the treadmill. For the stair master, I will usually do a moderate speed like level 8-10, but I do NOT hold on! If you hold on, you are making it way easier, and not letting your legs do the actual workout! If I am doing the treadmill, I will usually walk at a speed of 3.3-3.5 and an incline of 10.0-12.0.
Similar to the crops in the other look, these have a superior moisture-wicking Go-Dry technology that helps keep you dry during your workout! Since we do pretty intense workouts, we can get pretty sweat (yuck!), so these leggings from the “train” activewear line are great because you won’t get those nasty sweat marks on your leggings. We love the keyhole back of this top because who doesn’t want to show off the work you’ve been putting in at the gym?! It would even be cute with a strappy sports bra underneath that would peek through! How cute are the details of these leggings? I love how they have the lines in them up-close, and how they look grey from a distance!
We also wanted to share a few ways we like to get our sweat on when we are not going to the gym (or don’t have access to one!)
Go on a walk or jog in our neighborhood or on the trails near our house (Katy Trail, White Rock Lace, etc.)
Do an at-home or outdoor workout doing a circuit like this (do each one for a minute and repeat several times):
jumping jacks
high knees
push-ups
tricep dips off a bench or curb
Go on a bike ride around the neighborhood (okay, we will admit, we haven’t been on a bike in YEARS, but we want to go soon!)
Go to a track and run the bleachers or try one of these workouts.

I don’t think I have to talk about these liquid leggings any more because I have already posted them a million times on my instagram and on here! They are just super versatile and I actually showed how to style a leather skirt in this post. I just love them with everything and they’re super comfortable. I know they seem like they’re see-through, but they’re not! If you don’t feel that comfortable in them, try wearing them with a longer top or button up, like I am wearing here!
This chambray button up is such a classic, and like the leggings, it can be worn with almost everything! It is almost a neutral. I have had this same one for at least 7 years, and I probably wear it once a week, at least! I also love it tied around my waist with a romper.
These heels are a perfect pop of color with any outfit. They’re high but not too high!
Oh, and these sunglasses are SO fun, right?! You can rent them for a month with Ditto, where you can swap out sunglasses each month. Get your first month free with code “DOUBLEDOSEBLOG”
Hope you all are having a great week so far! We have had quite the busy week already making waffles, but we are looking forward to our parents coming in at the end of the week!
Hope you all are having a great weekend. I apologize that we haven’t been sharing our workouts on our snapchats this week. We have been CRAZY busy, so we honestly didn’t even lift weights a lot this week, but we did remember to write down some of our workouts to share with you all on here, as well as some of our eats!
Here is what our schedule looked like this week:
Monday- OFF
Tuesday- just cardio (35 minutes on stairs about level 8-10)
Wednesday- cardio (35 minutes on stairs) + legs
Thursday – cardio (35 minutes on stairs) + arms
Friday- cardio (35 minutes on stairs) + chest + shoulders
Saturday – yoga + cardio (35 minutes on stairs)
Sunday – cardio (35 minutes on stairs) + back + legs
We did not have time to include our workout today, but you can check out our past posts for some examples!
And, now for our eats from this week:
Roasted chicken we made (shared the recipe in last week’s post) + spinach + sautéed veggies
We were both hungry at 10 PM the other night, and in addition to chocolate and a quest bar, we were craving veggies, so we threw this quick salad together of tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach, salt and pepper, and balsamic vinegar.
We tried this new place called Dalat that has great Pho. We hadn’t had it in FOREVER, and what is great about this place is that you can sub out the noodles for shredded cabbage! SO awesome! We both got chicken pho and added a poached egg inside! So good!
As you can tell, we ate out a lot this week, haha. We also went to Texas De Brazil (so good) which has the BEST salad bar and then unlimited steak, chicken, etc. I know this picture is SO terrible, but I wanted to show you one (of many) plates of the meat. I get all the meat like flank, filet, etc and then I also get this chicken that is wrapped in bacon. I don’t like lamb or sausage, so I don’t eat those!
Look how incredible this salad bar is! I got two plates of this (insert embarrassed monkey emoji here).
Here’s a salad I made one afternoon for my afternoon meal:The same sautéed veggies I make almost every night with chicken. Never gets old!
After making over 800 waffles this week, we headed to another mediterranean spot in Dallas. It’s a buffet, so I will usually get the oven-baked chicken, the cucumber and tomato salad, eggplant, okra, green beans, salad, and cauliflower. Oh, and I had 2.5 plates of this 😉
We got invited to attend yoga in the park (more on my snapchat @alexis.belbel)) on Saturday, and then headed to Lark On The Park for brunch. I ordered the salad without the feta and dressing on the side with grilled chicken! It was delicious!
Oh, and the reason I didn’t do a workout on Saturday (I would have normally done legs) was that by the time we were done with yoga with TeaTree Hair Care and brunch, it was already 1 PM and I had ZERO motivation to go to the gym. I went and did a quick cardio workout to get my heart rate up and going and then called it a day! Not always easy or fun to get it in, but so worth it in the end!
And, now for some of our favorite workout clothes this week:
How cute are these tights?! I am not joking when we will probably be wearing these all of the time. What we love about them is that they can be worn to the gym, or just to run errands, lounge around, which is exactly what we love about athleisure wear.
This tank is super cute, too, because it can be worn also with regular clothes, and not just for the gym. The back has mesh, but not too much to where it is too much skin showing! The leggings and tank are both from Style Squared Clothing, which is a local Dallas company that has THE cutest workout/athleisure pieces.
These shoes are always on repeat because for one, they’re SUPER comfy, and two, they go with everything!
This tank is another great one because the front is super simple, but the back has the cutest criss-cross back! You can also wear this one with shorts or jeans!
These leggings are my favorite for so many reasons! One of them being that they’re super lightweight. I hate when leggings are super thick and “heavy” feeling. They also fit super well. I have super short legs, and love that these don’t bunch up at the bottom near my ankles!
My shoes are actually super old, and confession, they’re from the kids’ section! No, I don’t actually have small feet (I wear a size 7), but I got a size 4 or 5 in the kids’ size, and it fits! This pair and this pair are similar!
