This past week my boyfriend and I stayed at the beautiful The Cape, A Thompson Hotel in Cabo San Lucas. I had seen a lot pictures of the hotel and had heard great things about it, but in person, it was incredible. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, it was nothing but amazing! The staff is all incredible and so welcoming, and the actual grounds itself are gorgeous. My boyfriend became best friends with all the staff members by the end of the trip because they are all so nice and entertaining (shoutout to Sebastion!). The lobby/front desk area is all outdoors overlooking the ocean and infinity pool, which is so cool. The decor is super contemporary and unique, which I loved. The hotel is just over a year old, but it still feels brand new, and they make you feel as if you are the only people staying at the hotel. The hotel is secluded, but in a good way to where you feel like you have your own private beach and is not overcrowded like some of the other big hotels in the area.
The concierge service was super helpful in recommending authentic and healthy restaurant options to us, as well as fun activities to do outside of the hotel. We had a great experience at every restaurant they recommended, and never ate a bad meal. They also scheduled and arranged our ATV ride/horseback activity, so we didn’t have to worry about it at all. It was so nice to just be able to tell them what we were interested in doing, and then have them do all of the work for us!
On the main lobby floor, they have an outdoor bar that has really modern seating and a band that plays in the evenings. They also have a gorgeous rooftop bar that has tons of couches and overlooks the ocean and city.
They have two restaurants, The Ledge and Manta. The Ledge had outdoor and indoor seating, both of which are gorgeous. We loved sitting outside for breakfast overlooking the gorgeous ocean and mountains. For breakfast, they had an incredible buffet filled with hot and cold dishes such as fresh fruit (the watermelon and papaya were incredible), granola, fresh juices, pastries, and roasted veggies. They also had some Mexican dishes like enchiladas and Juevos Rancheros.
Manta is the other restaurant they have on the property, and it is a Mexican and Japanese fusion. Although we didn’t have a chance to eat there, we heard great things about it!
One of our favorite parts of the hotel was the infinity pool. From the pool, you could see the ocean, which had and incredible view of the waves and surfers to watch, as well as the city, mountains, and famous “Arch” in the distance. The main pool also had a really cool bar with seats inside the actual pool to enjoy your drinks. They had a ton of cabanas with really comfy chairs that were complementary, as well as lounge chairs, some even in the actual pool! The hotel also has another smaller pool that is filled with salt water.
Now, for the room! This was probably one of my favorite parts about the hotel. I never thought I would say that because I typically spend the least amount of time in the actual room, but this room was incredible and very well thought out. They use a key scanner to open the room door, so you don’t have to physically insert the key in the door, and they have USB ports all around the room to charge your devices. The bathroom was spacious and had a gorgeous all-glass rain shower, which is definitely more for couples, haha. Having the open shower and separate bathtub made the room feel twice as big, and opened up the space a lot. The room had gorgeous artwork, beautiful floor tile, and a really modern and comfortable bed.
The balcony was amazing because it had a rocking couch that was hanging from the ceiling that was great for reading or just hanging out. We relaxed out there one evening and just listened to the waves and watched the stars (total cheeseball;))The hotel had a great gym that was usually empty and had a variety of equipment like cable machines, TRX, and cardio equipment. They offered complimentary spa water, healthy snacks, and towels as well. The hotel is about 40 minutes from the airport, but you get to see all of the city on the drive up there. It is about 15-20 minutes from the downtown/city area where there is a ton of little shops and cute restaurants and bars.
We didn’t want the trip to end, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. We will definitely be back soon!
PS- shoutout to my incredible boyfriend who took all of my outfit pictures, and did an amazing job! l can be extremely picky, and he nailed it!:)
We are so excited to finally be sharing our Texas getaway to Austin at the JW Marriott. We went to school in Austin, so it was SO fun to be able to go back there where we lived for four years. It is such an incredible city and one that will always be close to our hearts.
If you live in Dallas, the drive to Austin couldn’t be easier. It took us just three hours each way and was perfect because all we had to to do was throw all of our stuff in the car and enjoy our time together (okay, and arguing, too)!
It was so crazy to see how much the city has changed since we have been gone. The area that the hotel is in didn’t even exist when we lived there just three years ago. It used to be a lot with food trucks, so it is incredible that they have this gorgeous hotel there now. First off, the hotel is GORGEOUS. From the rooms to the lobby to the food to the gym. It is all stunning. More on that later!:)The room we were staying in was on the 30th floor and on the corner of the floor. Not only was the room absolutely stunning, but the views were AMAZING. The room had huge windows, so you had a great view of downtown and Lady Bird Lake. We could even see where we used to live in college. I love the leather headboards. It has a Texas feel, without being overly “western”! We are pretty picky about bathrooms, but we loved that this one had a big counter space and the lighting and tiling was beautiful! We were welcomed with the cutest treat: a chocolate guitar filled with pretzel sticks, and our favorite, macarons! The views were incredible! Gotta include my outfit for the car ride since some of you asked about it:
After we got in, we walked around downtown a little bit and ventured off to Whole Foods, of course! We found this super fun tile on the ground, so of course, I had to snap a picture!
How awesome is this map behind the concierge desk? I love the rope detailing in the lobby! The lobby has this gorgeous glass fireplace, which I love! We had access to the executive lounge, which was huge and stocked with all sorts of drinks and snacks. They also had breakfast and appetizers in the evening to grab! They had coffee and espresso available all day long, which is perfect for us caffeine addicts!
Love the limestone on these columns outside! For dinner, we went to one of their delicious restaurants, Osterio Pronto, which is an Italian cuisine. First off, the restaurant is GORGEOUS inside and out. The food was also just as incredible. They also have a wine bar, OP Wine Bar, which offers customized, shareable antipasti plates featuring a variety of marinated olives, regional cheeses, and cured and smoked meats that all come with a suggested wine pairing.
In addition to this restaurant, they also have two other restrains, Burger Bar and Corner Restaurant, which are always packed! It is located at the corner of 2nd and Congress. They have a great patio that overlooks downtown.Love the beams on the ceiling in the restaurant! We don’t normally drink, but when we saw this cocktail list, we had to try it out! Samantha got the Viola Nero, and I got the Rossore. Both so good!
Love when restaurants give you bread with olive oil! So authentic. The menu has authentic Italian food, but also offers a variety of gluten free pastas, as well as chicken and fish.
We both started off with the Local Lettuce salad, and I got the salmon, and Samantha got the sea bass. I love that the fish came with roasted vegetables. Here is the adorable dress I wore to dinner!
The next morning, we had a great night of sleep and enjoyed some coffee in our room before heading to the gym!
The view from the pool (next to the gym) was gorgeous!
I was amazed at the size of the gym. Not only did it have every piece of cardio you could ever want, it had tons of weight machines, free weights, cables, squat rack, battle ropes, barbells, kettle bells, you name it! The weight machines even counted your reps as you worked out, which I had never seen before! After our workout, of course it was time for breakfast! We headed back to Osterio Pronto, which offers a full menu, as well as a breakfast buffet, which we had. The buffet had a spread of little bites like these, as well as these amazing looking cinnamon rolls! They had the cutest mimosa bar filled with fresh juices and fresh fruit. How cute are these bottles and straws? The buffet also had bacon and sausage, fresh fruit, smoked meats, cereal, made-to-order omelets, yogurt, and pastries. You could also order waffles! We definitely loaded up and enjoyed every bite! Their coffee was incredible, and we are coffee addicts, so that says a lot! On Sunday, they had a brunch that offered extra things like brisket, which we loved! After breakfast, we headed to the pool, which overlooks Lady Bird Lake, and has a great bar as well.
We relaxed by the pool most of the day and enjoyed the great weather!
After the pool, we headed to the mall and dinner. The Domain is gorgeous and all outdoors, if you haven’t been! Here is what we we wore!
We saw a gorgeous sunset that night! On Sunday, we woke up early, worked out, and had breakfast. We also walked on Town Lake, which is gorgeous! We used to walk on it almost every day when we lived in Austin.
After that, it was time to head back to Dallas!
We had such an incredible time there and can’t wait to come back soon! They will be opening a spa in the fall, which we are sure will be nothing short of amazing. We could not recommend this hotel more. If you have any questions at all about our stay or Austin, feel free to reach out any time!
Thank you to the team at the JW Marrriott for our stay.
If you follow us on snapchat (sbelbel; alexis.belbel) or Instagram (@samanthabelbel; @alexis.belbel), you may have seen that we recently went to NYC to for the Nike #Unlimited Innovation event. When we headed out there, we weren’t really sure what we were going to be seeing or doing, but it ended up being SO much fun and SO interesting!
In short, on Tuesday morning, we jetted of to NYC. We arrived in the afternoon, and checked into the Grand Soho Hotel (such a cool boutique hotel located right in the heart of Soho). Then we changed into workout gear (I know, best event ever!), and headed over to the Nike venue down the street. The venue space was super cool and bright (just what I would expect from Nike).
The coolest part..we got to sit down with track & field legend, Jackie Joyner Kersee! She was SO incredibly sweet and I loved what she talked about. She was so humble and talked about mentally preparing for the races. She also talked about how she had food allergies and how she had to worry about that when preparing for the races. My favorite part is when she talked about how fashion was important to her. She is all about ‘look good, feel good’. I am ALL about that! It’s the same idea as buying new workout gear and getting motivation to kill a workout and just feeling baller. Of course, after we chatted a bit, Alexis and I had to ask for a photo! After meeting Jackie, we headed over to the cutest restaurant, Gilligan’s. It’s all nautical themed and had the yummiest food! The table got watermelon margaritas in mason jars (I know, so cute!), margarita pizza, pita and avocado, and Alexis and I got the Branizno, which was amazing! After dinner and drinks, we all headed back to the Nike venue for the main event. The main focus of the event was to preview the brand new, never before seen, Team USA design and innovation for Rio this year. Within the venue, we saw the latest innovations within both equipment and apparel across all sports such as basketball, track & field, soccer, tennis, golf, and more. We were in such awe of all of the amazing products we saw! Everything from super rich and bright color palettes, material and technology that helps to reduce drag and weight and increase aerodynamics. By the time we had seen everything in the space, we truly knew why Nike is known for obsessing the athlete from head to toe. Photo c/o Nike
Within the space, there were several different rooms. The first room had all of the official USA Olympic uniforms for all sports. The second room was a room full of flyknit kicks all in the same bright neon yellow and pink hues (basically, heaven!). Of course, Alexis and I were completely obsessed with the colors Nike chose! The story behind it is pretty cool, too! Nike imagined athletes’ travel to tropical Brazil and thought about beetle shells. They took the bright and irqedsedent colors as inspiration to create Nike’s new signature unlimited colorway collection. In motion, the bright colors illustrate a glowing path that represents both the athlete’s unlimited abilities and how Nike views the world, “bursting with unlimited inspiration and design possibilities. Even cooler, did you know that FlyKnit technology delivers maximum performance with 60% less waste! More here! Upstairs, they had all of the throwback basketball kicks and gear, and wait for it…basketball legend, Scottie Pippin. So cool, right?! We also got to see the designer collections such as NikeLab + Gyakusou and Nikelab + .After browsing through the venue and eating some delicious appetizers, we listened to an interview with Jackie Joyner Kersee, Scottie Pippin, and Michael Johnson. They were all so humble and super interesting to listen to!Photo c/o Nike
After the event, Mai Lyn from Deep Fried Fit, Alexis, and I headed over to Bubbys and got a yummy salad. We were craving some greens after not having that many all day. We had intentions of going there for dessert, but what can we say, we like to eat healthy! Don’t worry, we had quest bars to cure that sweet tooth when we worked in our rooms that night! The next morning, Alexis and I headed to the hotel gym for a quick workout and then walked over to 12 Chairs (so yummy!). We loved that we could walk around to good restaurants! After that, we went back to the hotel to get ready and then walked back to the Nike venue for the Summer of Sport series and another look at the space (minus the huge crowd!). This time was super cool because we got to sit down with one of the Nike designers and got a one on one explanation of EVERYTHING! It was SO interesting! I could have listened all day! I will be completely honest, had I not learned about all of this, I would have just said ‘cute gear,’ but never realized all of the time and innovation behind it. First up, she talked about their most exiting innovation within track & field, track spikes. Besides looking super badass, they minimize weight via Nike Aeroswift technology featuring recycled polyester. The fabric is also super breathable with engineered mesh and integrates Nike AeroBlades (formed nodes that channel air around the athlete, resulting in the greatest drag reduction of any Nike track and field kit to date). Even better, in addition to the gear, Nike came out with leg and arm sleeves, and even adhesive patches with AeroBlades! This technology was in the making for quite some time. They used wind-tunnel testing on mannequins the same shape and size as the company’s various track and field athletes. Nike also used the same idea to create a breathable bib made out of perforated micro layer knit with tape instead of the traditional paper and safety pin bib. More on that here!
The designer also talked about some of the innovations within the basketball uniforms, such as an elastic waist minus the traditional drawstring for the first time! She then went into the medal uniforms that all athletes will wear on the stand. How cool do they look at night!?The NikeLab Dynamic Reveal Jacket is ribbed on the arms, which allows for breathability and mobility, and also shows ribbons of red and blue when in motion. The pants also have the same vertical ribbed zone that offers the same breathability and bright patriotic colors when moving. The jacket will be available for purchase later this month. More here!
After learning SO much about the innovation behind the Olympic gear, we were hangry (big surprise)! We walked around for a few hours and ate our favorite restaurant, Westville! Then, we headed back to the hotel and off to the airport! We had a blast! It was a quick but eventful trip! We hope to get back soon!
FINALLY sharing a recap of our trip to LA a couple of weeks ago! In case you missed it, we shared our stay at the Four Seasons Westlake in this post a couple of days ago!
Of course, we had food packed for the three-hour flight. Big surprise there, right? We had gotten a salad at the day before at Snappy Salads, which is a place in Dallas where you can create your own salads. We got a huge salad with a ton of veggies, grilled chicken, and balsamic vinegar on the side for dressing! I had also gone to another place in Dallas called Eatzi’s, which is basically like a mini Whole Foods with a bunch of prepared food. I got an egg white omelette with all the veggies, no butter (just oil), and pepper. They were super accommodating and it was really good (even eaten cold, haha)! I had planned on eating this earlier, but I was so glad I saved it because we needed up sitting on the runway for another hour when we landed. It was SO frustrating! Incredible breakfast at The Four Seasons Westlake. Samantha got an egg white frittata and a kale mango smoothie, and I got an egg white omelette with bell pepper, arugula (my fave), and mushrooms with a fruit plate. I also had black coffee and hot lemon water. For dinner on Thursday night, we walked across to Lure Fish House, which was INCREDIBLE! I could easily eat there every day. All of their fish is sustainable and they serve local produce, which I love!
Sam got the Lure Seafood Grill, which had oysters, scallops, shrimp, and fresh fish. She got the roasted brussels sprouts and chopped salad. I got the Steelhead with roasted asparagus and brussels sprouts. It was just as amazing as it looks, and now I am hungry all over again! Here’s a close up of Sam’s seafood grill. Our mom flew in on Friday and met us near our hotel since we had so much to do Friday morning. We ended up eating at Lure again because we loved it so much, and of course, our mom loved it as much as we did! We got the Spring Chopped Salad with no dressing, and just used olive oil and vinegar on the side. When we went again for lunch, I ordered the same thing because I loved it so much. I know what I like;)After driving over an hour back to LA from Westlake, we went to Beverly Center to shop a little, but surprisingly, we didn’t find anything to buy. Maybe it’s because we were so hungry and tired. Our mom even suggested we go to the hotel to relax and take a nap, and we both were like, “NO WAY” haha. No way are we going to spend our time on vacation taking a nap in the hotel!
For dinner on Friday, we had actually made reservations at a Mediterranean spot I found on yelp, but when we got there, the restaurant was empty, and although the waiter was really nice, there was nothing on the menu that really sounded good. Almost everything was made with butter (which we both try to avoid because it gives us an upset stomach), and it was kind of frustrating that they couldn’t prepare anything without it. So, even though I was embarrassed and HANGRY, my sister found a great spot that was super causal, but we ended up loving it! We are definitely not the type of people that have to go eat somewhere super fancy. We know what we like, and if we find it and like it, we will eat there a million times! This place was called Panini Cafe. They have several locations all over LA. We actually went there twice (insert embarrassed emoji). When we went on Friday (where I captured Sam snapchatting her meal), we were super hungry so we both got the chicken kabob with roasted broccoli AND an extra steak kabob. It was SO freaking good. It was a ton of meat, but we finished almost all of it, and even saved room for dessert later!
When we went back on Sunday before we left for the airport, we got the same thing, but this time, we just got the chicken kabob. We actually got another order of them to go for the plane ride home, which worked out perfectly! Also, everyone that works there is SO nice. They were so sweet and accommodating. They also have omelets and breakfast stuff, so next time were are there, we will definitely be going back! When we were on our way to dinner (the first restaurant that we ended up leaving), we passed by Hansen’s Cakes, which we had seen on Tori & Dean’s reality show. I remember them always getting their birthday cakes there, so it was pretty cool to see! If you can’t tell, we are reality TV junkies! After dinner, we had been dying to try this place called Creamistry. Someone on Instagram had recommended this place, and I am so glad that she did because I LOVED it! Thanks to whoever suggested it, by the way:) They make your ice cream right in front of you using liquid nitrogen. There were so many flavors and toppings to choose from that they lady working there probably was ready to kill us! We are both extremely indecisive. We got the coconut milk base and went with the Nutella flavor. We added in almonds, too! OMG it was freaking incredible! I wish we had one here in Dallas.
After we got our ice cream, we headed over to Drybar for a much-needed blowout. We actually had never gotten one here before, but since we forgot shampoo, and really needed to wash our hair, it worked out perfectly! It was so relaxing and I was obsessed with all the decor and branding! She did such a good job with my hair and their shampoo smells incredible, and leaves your hair feeling super soft!We stayed at the JW Marriott in LA Live, which is right by the Staples Center. They had a great breakfast. I got an egg white omelette with all the veggies, no butter, just oil. I also got fresh fruit on the side with black coffee and hot lemon water. PS- how cute is that mini Tobasco bottle?!On Saturday, we went to the Natural Products Expo in Anaheim, which was SO fun! It is definitely overwhelming, but so cool to see some brands we have worked with in the past, try TONS of ice creams and gelato, and meet up with some other bloggers. If you are a foodie, you HAVE to go at some point! So many samples and fun things! Here’s what I wore to the Expo!
LOVED Elli Quark’s booth. They had almost like a yogurt bar where you could pick out your favorite yogurt flavor and top it with your favorite toppings! After the expo, we met up with the super adorable and sweet @shutthekaleup. If you all aren’t following her, you need to be! She is a super hard working new mama and just the cutest and most gorgeous girl inside and out! We met up at one of our favorite restaurants, True Food’s Kitchen. I ordered the Moroccan Chicken and got a side of roasted veggies with it.After talking for hours at the restaurant (so much fun!), we went to Pressed Juicery to get their Freeze, which, OH MY GOODNESS, so freaking good. If you all haven’t tried it yet, you need to! It is a soft-serve frozen treat that uses only juices from fruits and vegetables, almonds and coconuts. It is also vegan, gluten and dairy-free! I got the chocolate and vanilla swirled together with sea salt and almonds on top, and Sam got the same but added coconut and a cacao sauce on top! I can’t stop thinking about it!
These are the ingredients for the freeze that we got [LOVE the ingredients!]:
Chocolate Almond Freeze:Creamy chocolate soft serve made of only cacao, almonds, dates, vanilla bean and sea salt.
Vanilla Almond Freeze:The same creamy soft serve made without cacao only almonds, dates, vanilla bean and sea salt.
We seriously had the best time and can’t wait to go back and find new spots! If you all have any specific questions about our trip, feel free to comment below or email us!
We had such an amazing time at the Four Season Westlake Village two weeks ago! It is located about an hour outside of Los Angeles, and it is seriously set in the most gorgeous location. Think tons of green, beautifully manicured lawns and flowers, and gorgeous hills in the background. We literally couldn’t stop staring at the views! When we first arrived, we were greeted by the super friendly staff! Every single person we interacted with during our stay was super sweet and always eager to help. For us, that makes all the difference when we are staying somewhere. Nobody wants to be greeted with an attitude, especially on vacation.
Look at how gorgeous these flowers are in the entry! We took our luggage up to the room, and were both instantly obsessed! On the table was the most delicious crudité and bottled waters! If you know us, there’s never a time that we aren’t hungry, so having these veggies to munch on was perfect! How delicious do these veggies look?! The room was super spacious and had a pretty big flat screen for a hotel, which we loved! We were pleased we could catch up on some Grey’s Anatomy that evening. It also had the most light we have ever seen in a hotel room. Normally, they’re super dark, and you can forget about having any kind of light after the sun goes down. Not this one! It had a gorgeous chandelier, and it provided so much light. Now, moving on the bathroom- AMAZING! We were so in love, I think that was the first thing I snapped. It was super spacious and had a separate shower, which I love! It also had a bathtub, AND a T.V. in the bathroom. We were all over that for obvious reasons!
Each room is provided with water bottles, as well as a coffee machine for those of us that need our caffeine fix. They also have turn down service, and L’Occitane body products, which we love!
Then, we met with the beautiful Morgan and had the most amazing lunch at The Lookout with most gorgeous view. We sat outside overlooking this beautiful green scenery and waterfall, and the weather was perfect! This would have been amazing on any day, but given that we had just come from tons of rain, we were on cloud 9!{Striped Button Down | Black Shorts | Similar Wedges Here | Sunglasses [use code DOUBLEDOSEBLOG for your 1st month free]}
Love those letters! This is what they look like lit up at night.Check out that amazing view from where we ate! When the menu came, it was hard to decide what to order. Normally, this is because we have to change half of the menu and ‘create’ our own item, but this time was only because there were so many option to choose from that we would actually eat! The hotel focuses on wellness and they even have specific menu items that fall within 400-500 calories and focus on wellness, longevity, and sustainability. So cool, right?
We started off with the hummus as an appetizer, which was amazing! It is served with pita bread, and normally we ask the waiter or waitress if we could have some veggies with it as well, but this time, the waitress asked us without us even having to prompt her! We were like kids in a candy store! For our entrees, Alexis got the Sustainable Salmon Salad, and I got the Turkey Burger. The waitress asked if I wanted it wrapped in lettuce after I said I wanted it bun-less, which I loved! It was just refreshing to be somewhere where I didn’t look like a nut ordering! After our lunch, we explored the amazing property. We first checked out The Tasting Room, where they offer locally produced wines. Then, we took a look at The Wellness Kitchen that they have within the hotel. With as much time as we spend in our own kitchen, we were obsessed with it! Literally, our dream kitchen!Check out the super cute lights again! We were obsessed! Loved the chairs and floor, too!It had top of the line equipment, and right off of it, they have a beautiful dining room, as well as a wellness patio, where seasonal vegetables such as tomatoes, squash are grown and used during the interactive cooking classes and demonstrations held by a Registered Dietition-Chef. One of the cool events they have is Farm To Fork, where they have a cooking demo that features fresh farm-to-fork dishes that are local, healthy, and sustainable, followed by a communal dining experience filled with delicious food and conversations. They just had one that featured Aroha New Zealand Cusine, and have some others coming up in April, May, and June. They offer Wine Wednesday classes where they partner with wineries throughout California to pair wines with healthy tapa style dishes.Attached to the hotel is the California Health & Longevity Institute. You have probably heard about it if you’ve watched Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition. We kept wondering why the kitchen and signage, and even the gym looked familiar to us–that’s why! It was cool to see it in person! After that, we headed over to the spa. They have the largest spa out of all the Four Seasons Hotels all over the world. Needless to say, it is HUGE and absolutely beautiful. They have tranquil waterfalls and comfy beds within the spa, and they have the gorgeous outdoor adult pool with outdoor cabanas you can rent that is right off the spa. We were super sad we didn’t have time to enjoy it in our swimsuit! This was taken right before it poured. It was a gorgeous morning and then the dark clouds started rolling in!Before we each had our massages, we had time to enjoy our Luxury Spa Suite, which was gigantic and super nice! It had a bed to relax on, a shower that was the size of another room (not kidding!), massage tables, and then a super cute patio with a small pool and lawn chairs. They also had a fruit and cheese and cracker plate, as well as some ice and sparkling water. We were in heaven! This suite would be perfect for a girls getaway or even a romantic trip since you have a ton of space of privacy. How cute is this private pool? Then it was time for our 50 minute Swedish massage, which was literally the best massage I have ever had! The masseuse did tell me I had tons of knots in my back and neck (yikes!) and she even suggested ways to help combat them.
After our massages, we headed to dinner at Lure Fish House. We had plans to go to Malibu that night but decided to walk to dinner since it was already so late. It ended up working out perfectly because we are now obsessed with that restaurant! We loved that this shopping center was walking distance, so you could easily hop over there and enjoy some of the restaurants if you wanted to without any hassles. The hotel also offers complimentary drop offs and pick ups with their house car, if you had to go a little further in the shopping center or you preferred to drive.
The next morning, we got up and went to the gym. We knew this hotel focused on wellness, so we assumed it would be a better gym when it came to equipment compared to an ordinary hotel gym, but we were definitely not expecting their gym! It was incredible! They had every piece of equipment you could imagine and had tons of cardio machines as well. They also offer complimentary cycling classes and yoga, and body sculpt classes. Additionally, they have various fitness assessments they can perform. Directly off the gym, is a super nice indoor pool as well. They even have complimentary apples, coffee, and teas located outside the gym for us, addicts! After we got ready for the day, we headed down to the Lobby Lounge for breakfast. Again, the menu had so many delicious choices, it was hard to decide! I wanted one of everything! They had tons of choices ranging from delicious smoothies, waffles (yes please!) and Brioche French Toast, Steel Cut Oatmeal, Breakfast Wraps, etc.For the table, we got the Seasonal Fruit Plate, Three Egg Omelet (make your own), Egg White Frittata without the cheese, and a Kale, Mango, Apple, Flax Smoothie (so good!). We also got lots of black coffee and hot water and lemon (our usuals). All of it was incredible! The staff was so sweet and accommodating, and they even had gluten-free toast for us! After enjoying our breakfast, we had our Life Balance Consultation with Dr. Ilana Kukoff. It’s hard to describe what she does and what the consolation is about, but to sum it up in one word: priceless. She genuinely offers great advice and takeaways that anyone can apply to their lives based on their personal issues. We highly recommend partaking in this consultation!
After that, we toured the property some more. We walked past the outdoor pool and into the Asian gardens and greenhouse. The grounds were so green and gorgeous! Of course, we took a million pictures!{Striped Tee | White Shorts | Lace Up Flats | Sunglasses } On our way out, we enjoyed a coffee at Stir. We couldn’t decide what we loved more: the super adorable decor or the amazing Stumptown coffee! Seriously, this is so our style of decor, so we just wanted to hang out there all day. They also serve some snacks, pastries, and our absolute favorite, gelato! This cookbook is written by Paulette Lambert, the Director of Nutrition at the California Health & Longevity Institute. You may have seen on Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition, Dr. Oz, etc. Just look at that tile and furniture! LOVE! Westlake Village was such a beautiful area! We definitely plan on returning. If you’re planning a trip and you want a sophisticated hotel, or you’re looking for a hotel that offers wellness experiences, we would definitely suggest staying at the Four Seasons Westlake Village. Not only will you experience a luxurious stay, accommodating staff, delicious food, and beautiful scenery, but you will feel so relaxed and refreshed!
So, it may be over a week since we got back from our trip to NYC, but we are FINALLY giving a little (or maybe not so little depending how long I ramble) recap of our trip! To sum up in a few words, our trip was a BLAST! We are super close with our mom, and she doesn’t live in the same city as us so it’s always fun to get to spend time with her, especially when it’s somewhere super fun like NYC!
Warning: these pictures may be kind of out of order since I am way too lazy to rearrange them! Forgive me! 🙂
We left early Tuesday morning so that we could get to NYC by the afternoon, and not waste the entire day traveling! That’s the worst, isn’t it!? When we lived in El Paso, it would legit take us the whole day to travel to the east coast to visit our dad’s family (or it sure felt like it)! To this day, you still have to stop somewhere no matter what airline you travel–so annoying! Luckily, now that we live in Dallas, we can fly non stop, even on Southwest!
