We have been wearing our Spanx faux leather leggings for a couple years now, and since they are (or yourself), we thought we would share 4 way to style them! For reference, we have size xs regular, and size s petite in the leggings. If you don’t own a pair of them, you should because they wear so well and suck you in all the right places.
This is one of our go to cozy looks for fall and winter. Pair a soft cardigan with the same leggings, a black tee, and a choice of three shoes: embroidered mules, leopard flats, or some sneakers.
Another cozy and comfy look! Wear a puffer vest over a grey turtleneck sweater with the leggings and some hiker boots. We love a black beanie and black bag to add an edgy vibe.
November is finally here tomorrow, and can’t believe that means holiday shopping and Thanksgiving is around the corner. We wanted to share four different outfit ideas for Thanksgiving, and the holidays, that you can wear and feel comfortable and cute in! We gave a mix of casual and dressier so you have some options. Also, see below for some more ideas!
Can’t believe it is almost halloween, and NOVEMBER! Time is flying by! That means, you all will be looking for comfy, but cute outfits for Thanksgiving coming up. This outfit is actually perfect for it because it is neutral and dressy casual, if that makes sense!
We love that this satchel bag can be worn on your arm, shoulder, or crossbody! It also goes with everything, as do these great booties. They are more pointed in the front, so they are more flattering on your figure. We have size 7 in these booties for reference.
In addition to this outfit, I wanted to share some things I learned this month, since yes, we are allll always learning, right? I am sure some will resonate with you!
Try new things, even if you don’t want to
I struggle with this a lot. Most of the time, I pretty much know what I like and don’t like, but it is good to be willing to try new things, even if you are 99% sure you won’t like them. For me, it’s been saying yes to activities, food and drinks that I wouldn’t typically eat often, and going out with friends for drinks. You may not love it, but at least you tried it, right?
Be open to what life brings you
Life is crazy and works in mysterious ways. That’s the tough (and also cool) part about life. You have no idea what is coming, so you just have to roll with it and take on each day and what it has to bring. I am such a planner, so this is a tough one, but it is kind of cool to know you have no idea what is to come, good or bad!
Lean on friends and family
In the last year, I feel like I have grown in a lot of ways emotionally. I know 100% that I couldn’t have done that without leaning on my friends and family. I see my friends often and really open up to them about my thoughts and feelings, and obviously, with my family as well. It feels good to open up to people you’re close with.
Be patient
I have probably written about my lack of patience wayyy too much, haha. Really, I am so impatient, and it is kind of a problem, but I am learning to work on it. I would be lying to you if I told you I don’t want to find “my person” and be in a serious relationship, but I also want it to be the right person, so I am learning to be patient and focus on other areas of my life, and that will come.
Listen more, and talk less
I feel like so many of us feel like we need to always have something to say in a conversation, when really, sometimes we just need to listen. A lot of times that is all someone wants. You just need a good venting session sometimes, am I right?
Is this not the perfect outfit for all of the holidays coming up?! It is almost November, aka holiday season, so we are all going to be looking for holiday outfits for Thanksgiving and other holidays. We love this ivory tunic sweater because you can wear it with leggings, like these faux leather Spanx leggings. By the way, if you don’t own these leggings already, you NEED to get some.
For reference in the leggings, we have size xs in the regular length, and size s in the petite length. They really are great quality and worth the price!
And, while we are on the topic of fall and holiday outfits, we wanted to share some of our favorite neutral lip shades for the holidays, or really any time of year!
We found this fall and holiday look all from Nordstrom. We love shopping there, especially online because they make it SO easy. We love that they have free shipping and returns, which is so helpful for the upcoming holiday shopping we are all about to get started on!
We are in full-on fall mode over here! It has finally cooled off, so we are pulling out all of our fall pieces! We just got this really cute black quilted vest and chain hat from Walmart. Both are such S T E A L S, and are great to mix and match with other things in your closet.
For reference, we are wearing size s in the vest and t-shirt.
We have been finding so many cute things at Walmart , where this whole look is from! We love that their pieces are trendy, and budget-friendly! Another plus is that some some of their pieces ship free with two-day shipping.
And, since we have been getting some questions about how we cook with no oil, we thought we would share some of our tips with you all!
Sautéing
This is what we typically do the most when we are cooking dinner. We don’t use any oil or butter when we are sautéing vegetables. Our trick is we use a good non-stick pan, little bit of water, or occasionally vegetable broth. We use abut 1-2 tablespoons of liquid at a time. If we are steaming our vegetables, we will add a lot more water and put a lid over the pan to let the food steam.
Make sure you are stirring and moving the food around so it doesn’t stick.
Baking
For baking, a lot of recipes call for fats like oils or butter. We like to replace those with unsweetened applesauce, mashed banana, or sometimes pureed pumpkin. Sometimes, you can even use nut butters. There are time we do use oil, and in those cases, we will use coconut oil.
Roasting
For the longest time, we always felt like we had to use oil when we were roasting food in the oven. You really don’t need to! The trick is to put a lot of seasonings and herbs, and to cook them longer. Also, you can add a little vegetable broth or lemon juice to your vegetables or food if you want! For this, we love using parchment paper because food doesn’t stick.
We also love using our air-fryer with no oil to get food more crispy!
Other tips
We also love cooking with things like tomatoes and garlic because they release water when cooking so you don’t even need to add water sometimes when you are sautéing with those foods.
We shared this leopard shoe roundup last year, and had so much positive feedback that we decided to do an updated one this year! If you’re not sure on how to style leopard shoes, we have a post with some tips here.
Some of our favorites:
#1 and #2 are both great flat options. You can wear them to work or every day with leggings and jeans. Both are under $50!
#6 is a cute platform sneaker option and under $40.
If you are fans of high-top sneakers, #7 is cute pair and has fun studs on them, too!
For booties, we love #8 because of the pointed toe. #14 is under $70 and cute with jeans and leggings.
We love a good mule, and #12 is a great pair because of the wedge heel.
#17 is a cute heel option to wear with dresses, jeans, and leggings.
