Happy 4th! We hope you all have the best day grilling and cooking out with your family and friends! We are going to be at our parents’ house hanging by the pool and eating veggie burgers and some grilled shrimp kabobs, and then watching the fireworks by the lake. SO excited!
Some of our favorite stores are having some great sales that we wanted to share with you all!
Happy July! Yes, it may be the second day of the month already, but we are wishing you a happy July anyways! Are you all doing anything fun for the 4th? We are going to our parents’ house, and are looking forward to *hopefully* some pool and sun time!
We have been listening to a lot of podcasts recently, so we wanted to share some of our favorite podcasts that we listen to on a regular basis. We also have a podcast, in case you didn’t know, An Extra Dose, and you can listen to all of those here!
How I Built This
This one is hosted by Guy Raz and we love that he interviews the founders of successful companies like Bumble and Drybar. It is so inspiring and motivating, and has great advice!
U Up?
We are SO obsessed with this one! It is hosted by Betches co-founder, Jordana Abraham and comedian, Jared Freid. They discuss a ton of relatable dating topics and answer questions from readers, which we love!
Off The Vine With Kaitlyn Bristowe
We are MAJOR fans of The Bachelorette, so this podcast is fun to listen to. She talks about all topics like dating, therapy, and more!
Anna Faris Is Unqualified
We just started listening to this one, and we love that she gives relationship advice to readers calling in, and she has celebrity guests on that are fun to listen to!
Medical Medium Podcast
On a more serious note, this podcast is what opened our eyes to so much about our health, and eating more plant based. We will say it is kind of boring, but he has great information, if you’re interested in it!
PS- how cute is this outfit! Perfect for the fourth in a few days. We love this tie dye top for summer (SO in right now!) with these ripped jeans. These jeans are great for any time of year, and we love the ripped knees. We are wearing size xs in the tee, and size 24 in the jeans. Both the jeans and tee are from Nordstrom, and so are these suede strappy wedges!
We love that Nordstrom has in-store pickup, and free shipping and returns! Don’t forget that the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is coming up VERY soon. Be sure to check all about the sale here.
Happy almost July! We thought we would cover a topic a lot of people in their twenties and thirties don’t really talk about: grey hair. To be honest, we have had grey hair since our early twenties, and embarrassingly enough, we used to pluck the greys out until we had wayyyy too many to sit there and pluck them out, haha!
We wanted to share some of our tips for covering those little stubborn hairs up. A lot of you don’t believe that we have it, and the truth is, we have gotten good at covering them up;)
Use a root touch up spray
We SWEAR by this root touch up spray. It doesn’t leave a mess all over your clothes or pillowcase. We use this in between colorings with our hairstylist and spray it on the areas you can see the greys.
This compact is also a great option for on-the-go!
Wear a cute hat
Hats are not just for bad hair days! If your roots are showing, no problem. Just throw on a cute hat, like this fedora hat, and you’re good to go!
Try a different hair part
We will sometimes switch from a middle part to a side part, where we wont have as much grey hair showing. You could also try a top bun, or a cute braid!
Get balayage or highlights to help mask it
We have balayage, and if you have darker hair like us, having lighter pieces definitely helps to mask and conceal the grey and white hairs better.
Trust your stylist
We cannot say enough about this! Be sure you really go to a trusted hairstylist. We were dying our own greys at home for a while to save money, and that was a HORRIBLE decision. We screwed up our hair and made the roots orange, so spending the money to go to a trusted stylist is worth it! Don’t risk it!
On a side note, this adorable colorful clutch (even has a longer chain strap, so you can wear it on your shoulder or cross body, too!) is super cute with these bow sandals, which happen to be on sale right now! We have size 6.5 in them for reference. We paired them with this straw panama hat also from Sole Society that can be worn to the beach or pool. We love Sole Society’s cute accessories and how they are all so affordable and reasonable!
We love how they dress down this black jumpsuit! We have size 0 petite in this jumpsuit for reference.

With all of the workout classes and trends out there, everyone is doing high intensity workouts! Whether it is HIIT classes, spinning classes, doing sprints, or lifting weights, we are all basically doing some sort of intense classes often.
To be honest, we always felt like we needed a good sweat to feel like we got a good workout in, but in the last 6-7 months, we have been incorporating more lower intensity workouts, and haven’t felt better! We wanted to share some reasons why we think you should add some lower intensity workouts into your routine!
1. Decreases injury risk and allows you to recover quicker
We have all taken a tough HIIT class or something that is more vigorous. It feels great when you’re finished and all sweaty, but over time, it can be tough on your body. This can also lead to more inflammation in your body and higher cortisol. Especially if you’re doing high intensity workouts several times a week, specifically all in a row, it can increase your risk of injury, among other things!
You definitely want to make sure you are giving your body days to rest and recover in between, and adding in those lower intensity workouts!
2. Overtraining can actually work against you
When you overtrain, you can actually destroy your adrenals and mess up your hormones! You really need to monitor how much you’re sleeping, if you’re refueling properly, and that you are taking rest days and doing less intense workouts to mix it up!
3. Actually can still burn calories
We all want a good sweat, but even if you are not dripping with sweat, or feel like you were just put through the wringer, you can *actually* still get in a good workout! We sometimes will burn more calories jumping on our rebounder, or during a pilates class, than we would running outside! Crazy, right?! More sweat doesn’t always mean more calories burned.
4. Builds muscular endurance
Sounds odd, but the more you train at a lower intensity, the better it can be for you in the long run! There have been several studies performed on athletes where when they trained at a lower intensity, the better they performed on their race day.
If you are like us, doing a workout, specifically if it is tough, it can get kind of old. We have been doing lower intense workouts, like pilates, yoga, and walking, and really look forward to those over going on a long run! Of course, getting in a sweat can feel good sometimes, but you want to do something you truly enjoy doing over and over again.
Some of our favorite lower intensity workouts
Some of our favorite workouts that we have been doing on a continuous basis are reformer pilates, yoga, and p.volve. We love the results our bodies have gotten from pilates, especially and are hooked for life!
We love these three looks that we got all from Betsey Johnson. What we love about all of these looks is that the material is amazing at sucking you in all of the right places, but not where it is uncomfortable! The all black look makes your butt look AMAZING. In all three outfits we are wearing size s tops, and xs bottoms for reference!
