How To Style Cowboy Boots For Game Day

In case you all didn’t know, we both attended The University Of Texas At Austin, so of course, wearing boots on game day is a must! If y’all went or are attending school in the south, you all know what we are talking about;) We had a few requests to share how we style our game day boots, so we thought we would write up a post on it! We honestly never thought we would ever wear cowboy boots, but here we are!

We did a post about a month ago on game day outfit ides here, and last year we did another post on game day outfit ideas, in case you haven’t had a chance to check those out!

Some of our favorite ways to style boots are by pairing them with a more feminine piece like a romper or dress. For this game day look, we paired a burnt orange romper with a chambray button down and some turquoise necklaces layered together.

This picture was actually taken in college, and we love pairing a white jean, dark jean, or even a teal jean with cowboy boots. We would usually wear the jeans with a plaid shirt in our school colors, or a sweater!

This game day look is from a couple of years ago. We paired some cutoff shorts in our school colors (you could wear any color short) with a basic white tank and a statement necklace.

You could also wear a romper in your school or team’s colors with boots, too! Sam had changed into flats because her feet were hurting, haha.

This is another outfit idea from our college days. We all are wearing a mix of outfit ideas, so this should give y’all great inspo! Sam is wearing an orange mini skirt with a longer chambray button down and a statement necklace. Olivia paired some lace shorts with an orange tee, and I am wearing a fun, printed dress in my school colors.

We wanted to share some of our tips for styling cowboy boots, especially if you’re not typically someone who would wear them frequently:

Pair with a feminine dress or romper
Add some accessories like a fun bag or statement necklace
Wear with white jeans or colored jeans

Game Day Outfit Ideas

Whether you’re in college or love going to NFL games, we wanted to share a few ideas to look cute for game day. You don’t have to wear a big t-shirt and jeans to a game. All you need is a cute dress or romper, some jeans or jean shorts, and a cute tee, and you’re good to go!

We are UT alumni, so we bleed burnt orange, but we still like going to other college games, and know a lot of y’all go to other schools like TCU, SMU, OU, etc. We also love the New England Patriots and The Dallas Cowboys, so we are going to share some ideas for those teams as well!

As far as college teams go, if you go somewhere in the south, a lot of girls wear cowboy boots or cute booties. At UT, we would wear burnt orange or rust colored sundresses, rompers, or skirts/shorts with a cute white top or a chambray button down. We would also wear denim shorts or white shorts with a burnt orange top or cute sweater. In the cooler months, we would wear turquoise jeans, burnt orange jeans, white jeans, or denim jeans with a cardigan. Victoria’s Secret has some really CUTE game day stuff for your school. Some of our favorite staples for game day are:

cute school tee (we love distressed ones)
plaid button up or gingham shirt in your school colors
chambray button down shirt
statement earrings or necklace in your team’s colors

As far as NFL games, we recommend a similar outfit. Obviously, we don’t usually wear our cowboy boots, but we love a cute dress in your team’s colors, or some dark jeans or colored jeans with a cute team tee, or even a jersey. They make some really cute jerseys now for women, and we suggest going for a more fitted jersey, rather than a baggy one, haha.

Football Packed Weekend Fun

We hope you are all having a great weekend! We are still in NYC and loving it! We will be sharing another blog post on that soon (hopefully) once we get back. We think it is kind of fun to share some of the not-so-instagram-worthy pictures for you all to see and feel like you’re there with us. Maybe you don’t want to feel like you’re there with us, but either way, we will pretend you do 😉

Oh, FYI, these pictures are kind of out-of-order because I was too lazy to organize them, so pretend they’re in order.

Anyways, we went to TWO football games last weekend. Both of them were so fun! If you didn’t know, we are major football fans and went to Texas, so we are definitely obsessed. Our mom flew in because she also went to Texas, and is even more addicted to football than we are. She is one of those fans that will stay in the rain, heat, cold, you name it. We have to say, we are not that die-hard. Actually, last year, during the Texas thanksgiving game, we left the game because we were hungry (and bored) and went to Old Navy down the street because it was Black Friday. I know, what kinds of fans are we?! But, Texas was getting killed and we were bored.
