I will be totally honest, at first, when Sam got her Apple watch, I thought it was just another piece of technology that I didn’t need to be addicted to. I mean, between my MacBook, iPhone, and tablet, I do not need another device to be glued to. After recording one of our first few episodes of our podcast, An Extra Dose, my friend, Olivia, and my sister were talking about how much they use their Apple watches. Of course, I immediately felt like a little girl again, and had to get one immediately. One of my friends happened to have seen them on sale at Target, so I ordered the rose gold 38mm with the rubber band. I am definitely a pink girl, so I had to go for the most barbie-looking one, right?
I ordered the Series 1 just because I didn’t feel like I needed a waterproof one. It is a lot more expensive, and I honestly just didn’t think I would use it. Sam has the Series 2 Nike addition. Hers is obviously waterproof, but she said she has never used it for that.
A lot of you all wanted to know if we like it better than the Fitbit, and honestly, I have never had one before, so I can’t honestly answer that, but I do LOVE my watch. You all had requested that we share some of our favorite features of the watch, and what we love about it, so we are finally doing that!
WHAT DO WE USE OUR WATCHES FOR:
WORKOUTS:
Track Your Workouts + Activity
We love using our watches for working out and running. You can see what your heart rate is, and how many calories you’ve burned, etc.
Check Your Heart Rate
Similar to working out, it is good to see how high your heart rate is during your workouts, and it honestly motivates us to push ourselves harder for a workout. Also, it is good to monitor if you’re stressed, and need to chill out, haha.
Play Music
EVERYDAY STUFF:
View The Time Discreetly
Nobody wants to make a big scene if you need to check the time during a meeting, or at a dinner. You can view the time discreetly, without making a big scene.
Respond To A Message
Just like checking the time, you can respond or read a message super quick and easily.
Directions (walking and driving)
We love using this when we are driving, or walking around a new city because you don’t have to pull out your huge phone, or be really distracted when driving.
Pay with ApplePay
WORK:
Answer A Call
We both knew you could answer your phone, but recently, we answered a call from one of our watches, and it was life-changing. Okay, not really, but it was pretty cool!
Respond + View Emails
Ping Your Phone
This is a game-changer because we lose our phones way too often, so when you can’t find your phone, you can ping it, making it super easy to locate it!
Board A Plane
Great for when you’re holding your bags, coffee, and need to board the plane. Makes your life so much easier!
And, if you’re someone that constantly loves changing your watch face out, or the band, we LOVE that you can change your background out with so many options. We both change ours all of the time.
Our favorite bands are these, and we found them in a TON of colors here.
I can’t believe it has taken us this long to put together a gym bag essentials post. If you all know us well, you know that we workout pretty much daily, so having the proper gym bag necessities is key! I mean, if you’re not dressed the part, how can you have a good workout, right? A good outfit always gets us motivated, and hey, at least you’ll look cute!
These are not all the necessities, but are most of ours, so we wanted to share them and explain why we depend on these!
Comfy Crops: We love a comfy crop, and this pair is SO SOFT, and super comfy for a workout or yoga. See more adorable crops and leggings here:
Dry Shampoo: This is seriously a life saver. If you haven’t tried dry shampoo, it will be a game changer. It soaks up all of the oils in your roots, so it is basically like you washed and revived your hair without having to actually wash it.
Low Socks: We love these socks when you want them to not show with your tennis shoes. We are not really fans of socks showing, so these are perfect for any type of shoe, and they don’t slide off.
Hoodie:A comfy hoodie is great for throwing on after a workout to head to errands or brunch. This one is super soft, and you could also throw it around your waist as an accessory, too!
Apple Watch: I will admit, I was not on the Apple watch train for the longest time. Sam had one for a while and loved hers. I finally got this rose gold one and swear by it now. I am absolutely in LOVE, and never take it off (well, just to charge it).
Insulated Water Bottle: A good water bottle is important, and it is key to stay hydrated before, during, and after a workout. This one can keep your drinks hot or cold, and it comes in a bunch of cute colors!
Wireless Earphones:We both have had these earphones forever, and love them! They actually stay in your ears, and have great sound. Perfect for working out!
Face Pads:We just got some of these to use after the gym. Since we sweat a lot, and usually don’t shower right away, these are great to wipe up your face after a workout to prevent breakouts.
Bright Tennis Shoes:We love a bright pair of shoes. These flyknits are one of our faves because they are super comfy and light, and can withstand any workout!
Hair Ties: Obviously you need something to tie your hair up with after a workout. These are great because they look trendy on your wrist, and they don’t dent your hair.
Cute Duffle Bag: We are all about a cute bag for your gym stuff. This one is SO cute with the polka dots and fits a ton! Also a great weekend bag.
Yoga Mat: How adorable is this yoga mat? Love the print, and it also comes in a bunch of other colors.
Also, in case you all are looking for a workout this week, we did share a downloadable one last week that has exercises for each day with weight amounts!
We are SO excited to share our stay at Breathless Cabo Resort + Spa. We had the MOST incredible experience there. From the moment we were picked up from the Cabo airport by our hilarious driver who greeted us with beer, to the moment we left the resort, our time was nothing short of amazing. We seriously had THE best time, and we hope that is reflected in our pictures and videos. Be sure to check out our vlog (we apologize for the newbie editing; this is our first one!) to see all the behind the scenes, and highlights of our trip!
The resort is about 30 to 40 minutes away from the airport in Cabo. We enjoyed the drive over because you get to see all the new construction and different resorts on the way. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the super sweet staff who helped us with our bags and gave us a tour of the resort. The resort is right on the Cabo marina (close to the shops, restaurants, and nightlife), as well as Medano Beach, which is actually swimmable!
They have two pools, one that is more quiet, and the other one, which we loved, that had a DJ, a ton of activities like water aerobics with Johnny, a great pool bar, Foam, and yes, even a foam party with super fun pool floats. We have stayed at some other resorts, and while their pools were relaxing, this one was so fun. One of the days, we had a bed with a bottle of champagne and a huge fruit plate, aka heaven. Our waitress, Vianey, was so sweet and made sure we had a great time! At 2 PM every day, they come out with a ton of margaritas and different cocktails for everyone at the pool, and it is just such a fun atmosphere. { Printed Swim Top | Printed Bottoms | Navy Crochet Top | Navy Crochet Bottoms | Duck Float }{ Blue Sunglasses | Silver Sunglasses }{ Purple Cover Up | Black Swimsuit | Hat }The quiet pool is near one of their restaurants called Bites, which is a sit-down restaurant that has a variety of dishes like ceviche, chips and guac, and fresh fish.{ Striped Dress | Hat } We loved the quiet pool to get work done, or to take some pictures. It overlooks the marina, which is so gorgeous to look at!{ Navy Crochet Top | Navy Crochet Bottoms | Hat| Silver Sunglasses | Earrings }{ Pom Pom Sandals | Striped Tote |Blue Sunglasses }
The larger pool overlooks the beach, which is incredible. You can actually sit on the beach, too, and they have water sports like kayaking, paddle boarding, jet skis, and snorkeling. Some of the other resorts we have stayed at in Mexico did not have water sports because the water is too rough, so we loved that this resort offered that. The resort is just steps away from the marina and shopping, so it was perfect for when we headed out on our Pancho tour with Blue Sky Cabo. We had THE best time on that tour and you can check out all of the reviews for them here. We got a ton of amazing photos and video, and they also offer sunset tours, which we will definitely be doing next time we go!
{ Gold Bikini Top | Gold Bottoms | Black Top | Jean Shorts | Hat | Sunglasses | Blue Sunglasses | Blue Earrings }Another super important thing to us is fitness, as you all know;) They have a gym that has cardio equipment like treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes, as well as free weights and some machines. They also offer poolside yoga and pilates every morning, and a fitness class at 10 AM. We had the opportunity to workout with one of the trainers of Elite Fit Agency, Darren. He put us through a great full-body workout (see our vlog for more), and we did a variety of things using body-weight, free weights, and TRX cables. We normally just workout ourselves, but it was nice to have a change, and we were both sore the next day. We also took a water aerobics class at the pool with Johnny, which was so fun! He made sure to make us laugh the entire time, and we actually really worked out our legs and glutes, all while getting a nice tan;)
The spa at the resort was absolutely breathtaking (very fitting as Breathless, haha)! They offer tons of great services including facials, deep tissue massages, manis and pedis, and even the fish spa. We both got a deep tissue massage and a fish pedicure. If you’re thinking what the heck is a fish pedicure, it’s basically a tub of water with fish called Garra rufa that eat away at dead skin. It kind of feels like someone is tickling your feet! They have both a hot and wet sauna, as well as a giant shower filled with fresh water to use after the sauna. The most incredible feature of the spa is the view from the giant terrace (BIG heart emoji eyes). Y’all, we could have just stayed there our entire trip because it was so beautiful! They have champagne and light snacks out there as well to enjoy!Speaking of amazing views, the rooftop lounge, Purple, at the resort is unreal! We went up there for some drinks (the bartender made the most amazing mojito) and to snap some photos as always, and it was the most amazing view we have ever seen! You can see the beach straight ahead and then the marina to the right!
Being the foodies that we are, we loved all of the food options. We will say we are not super picky when it comes to food. As y’all know, we eat super healthy, so we basically just need lots of veggies, salads, and protein and we will be happy campers. The problem for us usually is that we are ALWAYS hungry. For that reason, we love all inclusive resorts because we can eat whenever and whatever we want and not feel guilty that we are breaking the bank. At this resort, they had Spoon, a buffet option located right next to the pool deck. This meant that you get the most gorgeous view of the marina and beach every time you have a meal! They served breakfast and lunch there. We loved all of the option they had within the buffet. They had TONS of salads (you could build your own), cold dishes like ceviches and shrimp cocktail, and then they had lots of vegetarian and meat options with the hot bar (it was all so good!). For breakfast, they had the usual bacon, eggs, toast, fruit, etc and then they had a omelette station. We loved that you picked your own ingredients in a bowl for your omelet and then the chef made with eggs, eggs whites, etc. SO much easier and no lines or angry chefs (yes, this has happened to us too many times)! They also had fresh juices and yummy desserts! They have some other places to sit down and order food (one near the quiet pool called Bites). They also have 24 hour room service that is all included (we definitely did some midnight snacking on fajitas)!Downstairs, near the beach, they had several other restaurants (some open for lunch and dinner). We ate at all of them and really enjoyed them. As always, you can order as much food as you want! So, if you’re still hungry after your meal, you just order again!
Sashimi from one of the restaurants:They have one restaurant, La Biblioteca de Tequila that is an extra charge. Theyre known for their tequila obviously, but the food was really good too! We got the salmon and the steak and they were both amazing and great portion sizes, too! All of these restaurants had great views of the ocean, so perfect setting when the sun is going down! Now, let’s talk about the gorgeous room! Our room was part of the Xcelor club, so it’s a bit larger than the regular rooms (but those are still spacious). The Xcelor club was nice because they had tons of drinks, a nespresso, an open bar, and tons of little snacks throughout the day. We loved our room, and would have happily moved in! We loved how open and bright it was even without lights on! It had a huge open bathroom with a double vanity, separate toilet room, and a huge shower with a rain faucet. We also loved that they had great toiletries (including our favorite whitening toothpaste!). We were obsessed with the amazing balcony and the gorgeous marina view we had. If only we could wake up to that everyday!
There were two things we weren’t the biggest fans of. Trust us, it was hard to come with stuff we didn’t like! The way the resort is positioned, you have to walk from one tower to the other to go from the lobby or rooms to the beach/pool area and the gym. It was a nice walk scenery wise, but it sometimes is a pain because it can feel like a hassle if you left something in the room to walk all the way back. On a normal day, we didn’t mind it. You are walking on a portion of the boardwalk when you switch towers, but it’s technically still part of the hotel and they have security that ask about your room number and check upon entry to either tower. You also need to use your key to get into either tower, so we never felt unsafe. The other thing we thought needed a little improvement was the number of outlets in the room. We could make it work by unplugging lamps and phones, but it would be easier if there were more to plug in laptops, phones, curling irons, etc.
With all of that being said, we can’t say enough good things about Breathless Resorts Cabo. We were so sad to be leaving, but like they say, back to reality! So many of our friends and peers have asked us if it really looked like the pictures, and yes, it truly is as pretty as it looked! We highly recommend going there for your next getaway! We know we will be back soon!
Happy Wednesday! Today, we are going to be sharing another downloadable workout for y’all! In case you missed they last one, you can check it out in this post. Each day (workout) is split into a muscle group with rep amounts, set amounts, and weight amounts. We also are giving a few tips as well. This workout schedule is available for download for $10. It is exactly what we will be doing this week, and you could always re-use this plan for other weeks, and mix and match them. To download the workout schedule, click below:
Note: you will be taken to PayPal to pay, and then should receive a link to the download shortly after that in your inbox. If you do not receive it, please email us!:)
Here are some of the workouts we listed in it that you may not know:
We are all about black workout gear. First off, it doesn’t show your sweat, ew! And, it just looks so classic! This bra is more for yoga, since it is not super supportive, but we love the cutout detailing on it. These mesh leggings are super fun, and they are a fun twist on a basic black crop. We are wearing XXS for reference! This pair is also similar and super cute! These flyknit shoes are our FAVE for working out. We own them in 3 colors, and just ordered them in another color! They are so comfy. Here are our favorite workout pieces we are LOVING this week {click and scroll through to shop}
We wanted to share this recipe with you all because we actually are going to try and make it this week! It looks delicious! We love caprese salad, but since we usually don’t eat cheese we are going to leave it off, but it would be delicious with it on, too!
Check out the recipe here! (from dinneratthezoo.com)
Happy Thursday! Today, we are excited to team up with Maidenform to talk about our favorite type of workout that sports our shape. As many of you all know, we workout pretty much every day. We just feel “off” if we don’t. Of course, we take days off here and there when our body isn’t feeling up to it, but we love staying active, and getting outdoor when the weather is nicer. Be sure to check out the bottom of the post for a chance to a Maidenform bra!Our favorite way to get sweaty is to lift weights, and do some cardio on the starimaster or treadmill. If the weather is nicer out, we will go on a run or walk outside, too! We love walking around the Katy Trail or White Rock Lake in Dallas. There is something so peaceful about being outside! When we are lifting weights, we like to focus each workout on a different muscle group. For example, one day we will work out our legs, and the next day, we would work out our arms or back. That way, you can really focus on different muscles each time.We love their bras because they flatter your shape, and lift and separate. They support you for medium-impact exercises like cardio and yoga, and minimize bounce when working out. These bras come in a bunch of fun colors like blue and pink!
We also wanted to show you two videos that show how we sport our shapes to perform these pushups and alternating side planks.
Happy Friday! We wanted to bring back an older post we used to do sharing our favorite things this week + some great pieces we just bought or found (mostly on SALE!). After the major flight/passport debacle, we are FINALLY leaving on Sunday (fingers crossed we make it) to Mexico, haha. Thank you to all of you all who were helping us look for it, and giving us tips on how to get it quicker! This trip will be so amazing once we get there. We hope you all have a great weekend!
We get the tightest hips. Do you all? It is probably because we spend so much time sitting and working, oops. We are definitely going to be trying these hip stretches! We have also been going to yoga at Exhale Spa, which we LOVEEE! Such a beautiful studio, and we love their classes and spa.
If y’all are heading out on a trip like we are, you should definitely check out this post on 34 packing hacks. To be honest, we try to fold everything nicely, but when we get there it is all wrinkled, UGH!
The big question for white shoes: how do you keep them so white?! Loving these tips on how to keep your white shoes so clean and white!
In case you all are looking for baby names, or just like reading them for fun, like we do, haha, here are some great ideas. Are we the only ones who like to plan out future baby names?!
We have been trying this mBreakfast powder in our pancakes and smoothies, and loving it. We were a but skeptical of it at first, but have a ton more energy after using it for a couple of weeks, and we love the whole idea behind it. You can order some here.
