We haven’t shared an updated makeup routine in forever, so we are back today sharing our go-to makeup products that we use on a daily basis! We shared some of these in our original makeup must-have post here.
To be honest, we both don’t wear a ton of makeup day-to-day, but we do have products that we have been using for years. We like a more neutral, every day look. If we are wanting to do a little more, we will add some eyeshadow and a brighter lip.
FOUNDATION AND CONCEALER:
As far as foundation, we switch between liquid and powder foundations. It all depends on how much coverage you are looking for. For light coverage (going to the gym, or a more bare-faced look, we like this Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. It gives you a natural, dewy look and it has SPF in it.
For more of a coverage, we like NARS All Day Weightless Liquid Foundation. It gives you full, natural-looking coverage, without feeling too heavy! We love how smooth it goes on.
We honestly use this bareMinerals Original Foundation most days. We have been using it for years, and honestly just love how light it is, and how it doesn’t rub off on your clothes, etc. The only thing about it is that it is not super high coverage. It is also great for traveling because it isn’t heavy and wont leak everywhere.
A good bronzer, blush, and highlighter are super important. Without them, you look pale and washed out! Our favorite bronzer is Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder in “Aruba” . This one gives you a shimmering, sun-kissed glow, without being too “glittery”.
As far as blush, we have two favorites: Bobbi Brown Blush in “Desert Rose”and NARS Blush in “Orgasm” . We have been using both of these forever, and love the shades of both of these. They are super flattering on any skin tone, and they really last all day.
We started using Charlotte Tilbury ‘Filmstar Bronze & Glow’ Face Sculpt & Highlight only recently, but have become obsessed! The bronzer gives you definition, and the highlighter illuminates your cheekbones, nose, eyes, and cupid’s bow. You just apply the bronzer to the areas of your ace you want to slim and define (cheekbones, temples, jawline, sides and tip of your nose), and then use the highlighter for areas you want to illuminate such as the top of your cheekbones and down the center of your nose, brow bone, etc.
We have tried a ton of mascaras, but this one leaves your lashes long and defined, without being too clumpy.
Having defined brows that are shaped and filled-in is key! We love this eyebrow pencil for filling in and shaping!
LIPS:
For every day lip color, we love this Clinique ‘Chubby Stick’ Moisturizing Lip Color Balm. What we love about it is that it is super moisturizing, and doesn’t leave your lips feeling all dry. It gives you sheer to moderate coverage, depending on how many layers you apply. Our favorite shades are “Pudgy Peony” and “Super Strawberry”
As we mentioned, we don’t wear a ton of eye makeup, but if we do, we love this eyeshadow palette and this MAC Eyeshadow Palette. It has so many good shades for any skin tone! This Urban Decay Naked Palette is also a great one!
As far as eyeliner, this Clinque Quickliner is one of our favorites because it is super silky and glides on so well, and it stays on all day. You also never have to sharpen it, which we love!
OTHER PRODUCTS:
This Best of Sigma Beauty Brush Kit brush set is a great set that we use all of the time. It has a really good variety of brushes!
We use this This Sigma Express Brush Cleaning Mat is awesome for cleaning brushes. We are so bad about cleaning them, but this makes it so much easier!
We had some requests to share some spring dresses, specifically wedding guest dresses, so we rounded up some of our favorites- all mostly under $150, so they’re budget friendly, too!
If you’re looking for something more spring-ish, we love all of the dresses in the top row. #1 comes in several colors (even darker colors, too) and can be worn to so many different occasions. We love the pale blue dress (#3)! Kind of reminds us of Tiffany’s.
We love the cut of #6. Such a great neckline and super flattering. It also comes in several color options!
If you’re a fan of ruffles, we love the neckline on #9 and the one shoulder look of #11.
Looking for a LBD? We have you covered! #13 is a great, basic lace option. #15 is a fun, one shoulder option. If you love fuller skirts, #16 is so adorable!
Happy Monday! In case you have the Monday blues, we are sharing a GREAT sale taking place at one of our favorite retailers, Nordstrom. They are offering up to 40% off on super cute pieces, and even stuff for spring!
It is finallyyyy the weekend! This week has felt so long for some reason, or just kind of felt “off”. Has that ever happened to you all? We are back today with a requested topic: what do if you don’t exactly love going out. We are probably a very small percentage of 20 somethings that don’t exactly like “going out”. Even in college, we would go out, but it wasn’t one of our favorite things to do. Of course, it can be hard when it seems like almost ALL of your friends and acquaintances enjoy doing that in his/her free time. We wanted to share some of our tips that we have used in the past (and still today) to deal with it. First off, we want to tell you all that we FULLY believe in sticking true to yourself and what you enjoy doing. It doesn’t matter if everyone else, except for you is doing that. It can be hard when you feel like you’re alone in that regard, and can be hard to not fall into peer-pressure (we have all been there). Some of our tips/alternatives for not going out are:
Meet people that have common interests with you, or have other hobbies besides going out
Get involved in other activities like volunteering, working out, etc.
Go out to brunch/dinner with friends (even if they are drinking or “partying”, you can still have a nice meal and have fun!)
Embrace going out once in a while (we still have fun sipping water!)
To be honest, we can both be a little reserved, but that isn’t really the reason that we don’t particularly enjoy going out. We are just more of a “chill” type of person, and enjoy going out to dinner or a movie, or just hanging in with friends or family. Now, about this outfit: These super cute suede clogs and pink clutch are from Sole Society. They are seriously our go-to for sandals and booties all-year-round. All of their stuff is a great price point (usually under $100!) We also love all of their bags and accessories. This striped tee is a great basic top for spring and is super cute layered under this cardigan.
1: Ruched Dress: hands down, the best dress EVER. It is so flattering an comes in 7 colors! We have the smallest size. You can dress it up or down!
2: Yellow Strappy Sandals: these are so cute for spring and summer. They also come in a lot of other colors, but we thought the yellow was so fun! You can wear these with jeans, shorts, dresses, etc.
3: Denim Cutoff Shorts: We love a good pair of denim shorts. These are a great price point and they look super cute with sneakers, sandals, or slip ons!
4: Medium Wash Denim: This pair of denim is a great year-round denim. They are stretchy and have a super fun, frayed hem.
5: Lacy Cami: This lace cami comes in three colors (including red) and is really cute under a denim jacket, cardigan, or blazer!
6: Tassel Earrings: Love a good pop of color! These are the perfect amount of statement, without being over the top!
8: Lace Bralette: We have been dying to snag one of these! This color is adorable and sooo cute under a tee or sweater.
9: Straw Clutch: Such a fun bag for getaways! Love the colorful tassel zipper. (side note: just realized it sold out, so this one is a similar option)
10: Marble Phone Case: There is something about marble that is so classic and chic. We definitely gravitate towards marble, and this case actually protects your phone!
11: Aviator Sunglasses: This style of sunglass shape is flattering on any face shape, and at $60, they are a great deal!
