In case you all haven’t seen the new Liketoknow.it app that launched today, we wanted to quickly go over it with you all! We use liketoknow.it to share all of our outfits with you all to make them easier to shop! With the new app, you will be able to shop our outfits SO much easier, and quicker, too!
HOW IS IT DIFFERENT?
You can shop all of our outfits posted on Instagram through the snapchat, Instagram stories, the liketoknow.it app, or pinterest! All you have to do is SCREENSHOT anything you want to know the details of, and it appears in the new app. SO easy! We know you all probably are familiar with screenshotting stuff you all like, anyways, so this should be a great way to get the links! See the graphic for more info, especially if you’re more of a visual person!
CAN YOU STILL SHOP OUR OUTIFS THE OLD WAY?
Yes, you can still shop our outfits on our blog or from your inbox, like before, but this new method should be much easier! You can download the new app in the app store!
With spring here, it is time to clean out those closets, and stock up on the must-haves for this season! Okay, we admit we are still in the process of cleaning out our closets. It just seems to be NEVER-ENDING. Ugh, the worst. We actually made a “new rule” that we would not buy any more shoes or clothes, until we got rid of something else to donate or sell. Sounds like a good rule, right? Well, easier said than done;) Do you all have any good rules of thumb when it comes to spring cleaning?! We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas!
We wanted to share 5 must-haves for spring that we think are essential in any closet. We have good reason for each of these pieces, and know that you all will get a ton of use out of ALL of them pretty much any time of year, especially the spring and summer!
So, here we go!
BASIC WHITE V-NECK
A basic white v-neck is a staple for any gender or person, really. You can pretty much wear them with ANYTHING, and you can dress it up or down. Wear it with shorts, jeans, leggings, you name it! To be honest, a v-neck, especially white or grey, is what we wear at least once a week. It is always in our luggage when we travel, too! You just can’t go wrong! You can also tie it up in a knot, tuck it in, or wear it regular. We love this v-neck because it fits perfectly and it is $17! We own it in several colors!
Here are some other great white v-neck options:
CUTOFF DENIM SHORTS
We live in these pretty much all spring and summer. You can wear them with tennis shoes, wedges, slip ons, or flip flops. We always wear them with a t-shirt or some kind of tank, and then you can even wear them on top of a swimsuit! They’re just so versatile! We just got this pair that comes in a light and dark wash and is a great price point compared to the other pairs we have seen!
Here are some other great denim short options:
WHITE JEANS
We definitely don’t live by the rule of “no white after Labor Day”, since we wear it all-year-long. They are great especially in the spring and summer because they are so fresh and clean looking. We love them with a pastel top or white for a clean, all-white look. These jeans are a great option and price point. They fit super well and are stretchy! Not joking, we own like 5 or 6 pairs of white jeans, just because we wear them so often!;)
Here are some other great white jeans options:
PEEP TOE BOOTIES
When we were deciding on what to include in this must-have list, we had a hard time narrowing it down because there are always so many great pieces to include, but when we thought of shoes, we decided that a peep-toe bootie was a great, versatile option. They’re great for spring because they are closed, except for the peep-toe, have a heel for height (and longer looking legs;)), and look great with dresses, jeans, and shorts! This is our current favorite pair that we just got and LOVE, and this pair is super comfy and under $100.
Here are some other great peep-toe bootie options:
SLIP ONS
Yes, we know, another slip on. We just can’t say (or wear) enough of these. First off, they are literally the most comfortable shoe (except tennis shoes), they come in a ton of colors, they’re under $60, and look great with any kind of outfit. We own them in three colors, and these light pink ones are next on our list for spring!
After many of you have requested a post on this, we are fiiiinally doing one. We are kind of embarrassed to say we have lived in Dallas for over three and-a-half years, and haven’t really posted about our favorite spots before! Okay, so maybe it is kind of for good reason 😉 Honestly, we are probably bantering 90% of the time we are out in Dallas, so there’s a good chance you have seen us at one of our frequent spots in an argument, eek!
We had a great response on our post styling pieces a few different ways a while back in this post, so we wanted to do another one for y’all! This grey sweater is probably one of our most worn pieces, and most “liked” by y’all, so had to include it in this post! It is under $40, super soft, and goes with everything! The v-neck is also super flattering on anyone.
We styled it a few different ways to show y’all that you can wear it any season, and so many different ways! Also, you’re definitely not limited to just the way we styled them here by any means. You could wear it with white jeans and denim cutoffs, etc.,which we didn’t show here!
With Black Shorts + Tennis Shoes
We love this look for spring because the longer sleeves keep you warm, and the black shorts and tennis shoes are super comfy for running around!
With Shorts + Booties
This is the same as the above look, but we swapped out the tennis shoes for these booties ON SALE!
With Ripped Jeans + Tennis Shoes
This look is great for spring or fall because of the longer sleeves and the jeans. This is a great outfit for traveling or running errands because these jeans are stretchy and these shoes are super comfy!
With Moto Leggings + Slip Ons
These moto leggings are our go-to legging. This exact pair is sold out, but this pair is similar and great for spring and all-year.
With Black Ripped Jeans + Black Heels
This is a great outfit for date night, or a fun night out, or even brunch! The block heel adds a dressier hint, and the ripped black jeans keep it a little more on the dressy-casual side.
With Ripped Jeans + Slip Ons
This is similar to look #3, but we swapped out the tennis shoes for these grey slip ons that look great with everything! If y’all can’t tell, we wear them ALL of the time!
You can totally mix and match the shoes and bottoms in different ways to create even more outfits, too! To be honest, we probably wear these outfits way more than it seems on our Instagrams, haha.
Hope you all are having a great week! We are in El Paso visiting our parents for the week, so we are looking forward to getting to spend some time with them. We will probably be working most of the time #workaholics, but it is always nice to be home! Xo
Hope you all are having a great week so far! We are headed to visit our parents for the week in El Paso, so we are really looking forward to it! We had a few requests to share what we eat in a day each day + what our workouts look like for the week. Honestly, we forget to take pictures of every single thing we eat, but we did share what we typically eat in a day in this post. We also shared this guide on working out and eating in this post, which is a great summary of how we workout and eat on a daily basis.
Scroll down to the end of the post to see what our workouts look like in a week + what we will typically eat in each day for a week.
Below, you will find a cardio workout, as well as a breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipe that we have tried or are planning on making soon!
This week, we are sharing an at-home cardio workout that can be done basically anywhere!
As far as cardio goes,we will do anywhere from 30-45 minutes of cardio, usually on the stair master, followed by weight training (each muscle group a different day). Every body is different, and you definitely don’t need to do that much cardio each day, just whatever you feel up to, or feel like you can handle at this time! We used to do ZERO, so just find what works best for you!
Below are some workout pieces we are loving this week [click each item to shop it directly!]:
And, our workouts for the week! You can see our other post for examples of all of these other workouts!
As far as cooking and meal prepping, we like to have some kind of protein prepped for the week, like grilled chicken or salmon baked in the oven. That way, we can just add it to salads or veggies for lunch or dinner in 5 minutes! Nobody wants to have to come home and make a full meal, right?
These blender pancakes look amazing and can be made ahead of time and frozen for later!
These Greek chicken bowls look amazing and can be made for lunch for the whole week!
Greek Chicken Bowls
Serves: 6 servings
INGREDIENTS
Greek Chicken
2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/4 cup olive oil
3 Tbs garlic, minced (Note, adjust to preference)
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1 Tbs red wine vinegar
1 Tbs dried oregano
1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Cucumber Salad
2 English cucumbers, peeled and sliced
1/3 cup lemon juice
2 Tbs olive oil
1 Tbs red wine vinegar
1/2 Tbs minced garlic
1/2 tsp dried oregano
Tzatziki Sauce
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 English cucumber, finely diced
1 Tbs minced garlic
1/2 Tbs dill weed, or 1 Tbs fresh dill, chopped fine
1 Tbs fresh lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
1/2 tsp chopped fresh mint (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
The Rest
3 cups cooked brown rice
1 1/2 pounds cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 cup red onion slices
INSTRUCTIONS
In a large plastic zip bag, combine olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, oregano, greek yogurts and salt and pepper. Massage to mix.
Add chicken into the bag.
Massage to make sure chicken is full covered and marinate for at least 20 minutes, up to 12 hours.
Drain the chicken from the marinade, discarding the marinade.
In a skillet, heat some olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add chicken when it is hot, and cook, flipping part way through. Cook approximately 3-4 minutes per side. Cooking time depends on thickness and size of the chicken. Cook until internal temp is 165 degrees.
Remove from pan, and let cool.
Once cool, cut into bite sized pieces. Just make sure you let it cool, or all the juice will run out.
Meanwhile, make cucumber salad by chunking the cucumbers, and tossing in a bowl with the lemon juice, olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, and oregano. Set aside
Make tzatziki sauce by combining the Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, dill weed, lemon juice, lemon zest in a small bowl; season with salt and pepper. And add mint (optional)
Refrigerate while assembling your bowls.
Cook brown rice according to package directions. When finished cooking, divide between meal prep containers, 1/2 cup in each container, halve cherry tomatoes, and mix with red onion slices. Divide amongst the bowls.
Top with chicken, cucumber salad, and some tzatziki sauce.
Keep for 3- 5 days in airtight container, serve cold!
2 Tablespoons sesame oil (you’ll need more for the peanut sauce below)1
2 teaspoons minced or chopped garlic
1 cup shredded carrots
1 cup thinly sliced cabbage (I use red)
1 large bell pepper, thinly sliced (I use red)
3 large zucchini, spiralized into noodles4
2 large chicken breasts, cooked & shredded (about 2-3 cups)2
Toppings:
1 Tablespoonsesame seeds, handful of cilantro, 1/2 cup peanuts, chopped green onion
PEANUT SAUCE
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup soy sauce (I use reduced sodium)
2 Tablespoons sesame oil1
2 Tablespoons rice vinegar3
2 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced
1-2 teaspoons Sriracha or any hot chile sauce
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat 2 Tablespoons of sesame oil and the garlic in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the carrots, cabbage, and pepper slices. Cook for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are a little tender. (I usually begin the peanut sauce, step 2, during this time.) Once tender, add the zucchini noodles and shredded chicken to the skillet. Cook and stir for about 3 minutes until the zucchini is a little softer and chicken is warm. Turn off the stove and remove from heat. Set aside. (*If your skillet isn’t quite big enough, you can do this step in batches.)
Combine all of the peanut sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over low heat. Whisk constantly until the peanut butter has melted and everything is combined. I usually use 2 teaspoons of Sriracha, but use the amount of heat you like.
Once the sauce is heated through, pour over chicken/vegetables. Toss everything around until combined. Place on a serving dish (or not!) and top with sesame seeds, cilantro, peanuts, and green onion. Serve immediately.
Leftovers keep well in the refrigerator for a few days. Reheat to your liking.
