Happy Monday, y’all! We hope you had a great weekend. Our was busy, but also relaxing at the same time! We have been super swamped with covering the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, which is AMAZING, so don’t forget to stock up for fall. Our mom just placed a big order online, haha. Read more about the sale here! Anyways, we had a few requests to do a post on pattern mixing. We are both major fans of pattern mixing, especially in the summer, because it takes an outfit from basic to fun! It doesn’t have to be a huge amount of patterns going on, but just a few will work great!
In this outfit, we paired these adorable striped pointed flats with this star + stripes scarf. This would be a super cute outfit for Labor Day in a few months, or just for a festive outfit! This scarf is so soft, too, which is a major plus!
This red bag is a great pop of color and it actually fits a lot in it!
As far as pattern mixing, here are our guidelines:
- mix prints of different scales (smaller prints with larger prints)
- keep colors in the same color family
- use stripes as a neutral
- tie a printed shirt around your waist
- mix prints and neutrals:
- chambray and leopard or gingham
- polka dots and chambray
- Mix complimentary prints:
- stars and stripes
- polka dots and stripes
- leopard and stripes
- plaid and leopard

We are finally in the summer months, and that means all of us will be showing more skin. With that comes anxiety for some of us because maybe your legs aren’t as toned as you want them to be, and that is totally okay because we have some tips for you! Obviously, you can’t get them exactly how you want them overnight because like anything else, it takes time and discipline, but I will say that it is worth it!
Before I get into our tips, I wanted to talk to you about 
As far as legs go, there are some tips that you all can try out below. As long as you stick to a good workout schedule, and eat lean proteins and fresh vegetables and fruits, you will feel good AND look good. It is 90% of what you eat, and you can’t do burn off every single thing you eat. If you want lean muscles, you have to be lean from the inside out.
Happy Thursday! We hope you all are having a great week. We have almost made it to the weekend! We just got back from an incredible birthday getaway in Miami that we can’t wait to share with you all. On that topic, we wanted to get a little more personal with you all, specifically about working and being so type-A. Before, that we wanted to share how much we LOVE 
Let us first off say how extremely grateful we are for you all. Without your support, none of this would be possible. We absolutely love getting to interact with you all and share stuff that you all find useful. We wanted to talk more about this because we know a lot of you can probably relate, even though you may not be a blogger. We have both mentioned that we are type A before, and can put a ton of stress on ourselves. For example, when it comes to Instagram and our blog, we both feel guilty if we don’t post as much as we feel like we should, or if we get caught up with real-life, and don’t snapchat or share enough throughout the day. We know it can sound kind of silly, but it is the truth.
We are so busy trying to move forward and move on to the next goal (reaching more people, growing our blog, working on the next post), that we often forget to celebrate the victories and things we have set goals to achieve. We have both been like this all of our lives, whether in school or at work. We are sure a lot of you who have the same personality can experience the same thing, so we wanted to share what we are going to try to do to help with this issue in hopes that it will keep us accountable. 
It sounds so harsh, but we never feel like we’ve gotten enough done. No matter how much we do throughout the day, we both feel like there is so much more we could have done. If we are at home, and just sitting on the couch watching tv, there is a 99% chance, we are on our phones scrolling through Instagram, planning our posts out, or on our computer answering an email. We literally don’t know how to decompress, and yes, it is an issue.
One of us went to see our therapist, and she suggested posting less on Instagram. I (Alexis) am very much a person of routine, so not posting as much as I do (I post a TON), gives me a ton of anxiety. It sounds so silly in theory, but that is how I feel. I know that nothing major will happen if I take half the day off, or a whole day, but I struggle with it. So, here are some of the things I am going to be trying (and Sam, too):
Their restaurant and bar, The Turn Cafe has a selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options that are prepared to sit down and enjoy or grab on-the-go. They also offer specialty cocktails and coffee. 
They also have a great lounge area in their lobby.
Of course, we made a few pit-stops in the gym. We love that it had a fun vibe (not your typical gym) with neon lights and a darker atmosphere!
Another great thing about the location is that it is walking distance to great shopping and an indoor mall that has a HUGE Nordstrom. Need we say more?! On that topic, this area does remind of us a little bit of Times Square in NYC in that it is filled with tourists and some homeless people. We didn’t feel unsafe, but you do have to be careful with your bags and phones.
