Valentine’s Day is just in a few days, so we thought we would share a cute outfit you can wear straight from the office to date night, or even just to throw on for the evening. Our favorite thing about this look is that you can wear each piece with so many other things in your closet!
Before we get into the outfit, let’s talk about some gift ideas! A lot of these items are available with in-store pickup at Nordstrom, which means you can get them the same day! We use it for pretty much every order.
Now, about this look: this white blazer is such a good staple piece. You can wear it to work, or dress it down with some jeans or over a cute dress for spring and summer!
We paired it with some white jeans, and this black cami that is also great for layering with other pieces in your closet.
These nude suede heels are a favorite of ours and a basic we think everyone needs. They match everything and are super flattering.
Whether or not you are single or in a relationship, having a girls’ night with some of your besties is a must! We are all about some girl time, so we thought we would share tips on how to throw the perfect Galentine’s Day party. We have everything you need, delicious wine, and good company, of course!
Pick A Theme
We are all about the cozy pj/sweat vibes and some good snacks and wine, like our favorite California Candy Dry Rosé by JaM Cellars. You could also do costumes or a pink and red theme. Another cute idea we saw on the internet was “Fries Before Guys,” which we thought was so fun!
For our theme, we went with lots of red and pink. We served our wine in fun, glitter cups and decorated with pink and red candies, fun straws, and heart cutouts!
Serve Up Some Good Wine
It is not a girls’ get together without some rosé! This JaM Cellars California Candy rosé is so good and refreshing! We love that it has a vibrant strawberry and watermelon flavor, so it is perfect for the spring and summer, too. It is a must for your Galentine’s celebrations because it is the perfect pink color, and who doesn’t love wine, especially when it tastes this good!
It tastes just like candy in the best way, so it is perfect alongside some chocolate-covered strawberries and some heart candies and chocolates. We love that it is not too sweet, but it definitely leaves you wanting more.
We love that it comes in a bottle, and cans (called CandyCans—so cute!), so perfect for hosting and gifting!
Candy Dry Rosé is so easy to spot in the wine aisle and we love that it is under $20. Grab a bottle on your next grocery run, or if you want to find the closest store to you, click here to use the JaM Cellars store locator and enter your zip!
Have A Spa Night
We love a good spa treatment, so why not make your own face mask that you can even eat! Doing spa treatments and face masks is a great way to bond with your girlfriends, and pairs perfectly with some Candy while it works its magic! This one is super easy to make, and has so many benefits.
Honey helps skin retain moisture without feeling oily, and it helps with the appearance of scars and increases both healing and tissue regeneration. Oats have a lot of healing and moisturizing properties, and they also help to calm the skin. By adding avocado, it makes your skin even more smooth and moisturized because of the nourishing oils it contains.
INGREDIENTS:
1 tablespoon rolled oats, whole or coarsely ground
1/2 ripe avocado
1 tablespoon honey
2 drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
To start, use a fork to mash the avocado in a bowl.
If you are planning on grinding your oats, place them in place them in a food processor and pulse. Then, add to the mashed avocado.
Add in the honey and optional essential oils and mix everything together.
Apply a few tablespoons to your clean face evenly, and let sit for 15-20 minutes.
Rinse off with warm water and apply moisturizer or facial oil
Get Themed Decor
You can’t throw a Galentine’s themed party without appropriate decor. We suggest tons of red and pink, and heart-shaped everything.
This post was inspired by JaM Cellars– all opinions are our own. Find California Candy Dry Rosé, CandyCans and more easy-to-love wines Butter Chardonnay, JaM Cab and Toast Sparkling in the wine aisle. Head to your local grocery or find a store near you by just entering your zip.
In case you missed our last episode of An Extra Dose, you can listen to that here!
A little about this episode:
On this episode of An Extra Dose Podcast, we are sharing everything we usually eat in a day, and the reasons why we eat certain foods like wild blueberries, asparagus, brussels sprouts, lemons, and more.
After getting so many questions about our blueberry bowls, we thought we would share a post all about it for you all to reference.
What Is It?
Literally just frozen blueberries (or you can use regular) with unsweetened almond milk. You can use any kind of milk you’d like, and we don’t really measure, but we typically do 3/4 or 1 cup of blueberries with enough milk to cover the berries.
You can find the in the frozen section at your grocery store, or even at Costco! You can also find them here.
Recipe For Blueberry Bowl
We kind of mentioned it above, but we do 3/4 to 1 cup of blueberries with about 1/2 to 1 cup with unsweetened almond milk. You can add banana, or anything else you’d like!
We are currently on a trip with our amazing parents, and wanted to take some time to reflect on a few things we really thought about on this trip and share them with you all.
Before we get into those, a little more about the outfit: this leopard cardigan wrap from Sole Society is the perfect print to wear with a long sleeve tee underneath, and into spring with short sleeves underneath. Love how it looks with these suede booties and this neutral tote bag, all from Sole Society. So many great, affordable accessories you can wear for years.
Life Is Short
After Kobe’s passing, and the other tragic lives lost, it really is a reminder of how short life is, and how life can change in an instant. Life is full of unexpected moments, some good, and some bad. We always all think it won’t happen to us, but it can happen to you.
Be Present
As hard as it is to do at times, it is so important, and something that we need to be better about. Whether it is with work, being on social media, or being on vacation, it is important to really focus on everything around you and reflect on your current journey, and be grateful for what you have.
Small Things Can Make All The Difference
When we were journaling, there is a prompt for “something nice you did that day”, we realized that maybe we don’t do that many nice things, which is kind of pathetic. On this trip, we both really made an effort to do things like saying hello, smiling, holding the door open for others, and complimenting others. We also left reviews on behalf of restaurants and great waiters we had. It can make all of the difference.
