Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. We ran our first 10K yesterday, and have definitely caught the runner bug, haha. We will probably not be running any major runs anytime soon, but a half is definitely our goal one day. In case you missed our post on our running tips, you can read that here. Since it is officially fall, we wanted to share a roundup of our fave cozy cardigans that you can wear all fall, and into winter!
Cardigans are a staple for fall in our books. You can wear them with jeans, leggings, shorts, dresses, etc, or you can even wear them to lounge around at home! We are all about them.
#1 is super cozy and you will just want to sleep in it!
Happy Friday! If y’all have been following along on our insta-stories and/or snapchats, you have seen that we have been running a little more! We are definitely not major runners by any means, but a couple months ago, we started running more because we switched gyms, and since our gym didn’t open until 2 PM on Sundays, we decided to start going on short runs in the mornings on the Katy Trail in Dallas. We have not been runners really any of our lives, but have always had a goal to run some kind of race, whether it is a 5K, or something a little longer. When we were in college, we would sometimes run on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, but didn’t really have the endurance or desire to run that far.
Before we get into our running tips, we wanted to talk about this outfit! We are major fans of running shorts for any type of workout. We don’t really like working out in crops or leggings unless it is freezing out. These running shorts are a great fall color and great for running! We paired it with this super cute strappy sports bra (read more about sports bras in this post) and this comfy hoodie that you could wear with jeans, too! The black kicks are great for other types of workouts (we wouldn’t suggest for running), but great for the gym! When we started running a couple of months ago, the furthest we ran was 4 miles, and it felt like a million miles. The furthest we both have ran up to this point is a little over 7 miles. Some days, we feel like we can do a lot more than that, and some days even one mile is killer. There are so many factors that play into how your run will go! On that topic, we are both running in our first race this Sunday! It is a 10K, so we have both ran way over that mileage, but it is going to be an early morning, so we will see!We wanted to share some of our tips for running (not that we are experts by any means!) Do you all have any other tips for running?! We want to hear yours!
Start Off Slowly: you don’t have to start off running tons of miles. You can even start just power walking and adding in a couple minutes of running in between. It takes practice and consistency, so be patient!
Download A Running Training App: we don’t personally use one, but there are several apps like Couch to 5K
Track Your Runs With Your Apple Watch Or Fitbit: we talked about our Apple watches in this post, but we highly recommend using some kind of tracker to track your runs. It keeps you motivated and allows you to measure your progress!
Get Good Running Shoes: we were honestly running in bad shoes, and that will make all of the difference! We suggest this pair for running. They are super supportive!
Listen To Good Music/Podcasts: having a good playlist is key! We use Spotify or FitRadio, and also love listening to podcasts (PS- you can listen to ours here)!
Drink Enough Water: we know everyone says this, but really it is SO important! If you aren’t hydrated, you will feel tired and could even pass out or become dehydrated, so drink up!
Maintain Cardio Workouts At Gym: it can be extremely daunting to go on a run. Even when we see people running outside, we think it looks miserable, haha. If you are not in cardiovascular shape, running will be extremely difficult, but if you do cardio on a regular basis at the gym like on the bike, elliptical, arc trainer, stairmaster, rowing machine, etc, your body is used to cardio and being under stress for a while. This has definitely helped us because we know that if we can do 40 minutes of cardio at the gym, we can definitely run outside for that long!
Run With A Buddy: sometimes it is nice to go on a solo run, but there are days when you need accountability and someone to motivate you! Grab your friend, boyfriend, sister, brother, anyone to go on a run with you! You all will motivate each other to push yourselves further than you would solo!
Find A Trail That Has People On it (Busy): for us, we like having people around us that are being active, too. If we are running on an empty path, it can be hard to push yourself to go further if there is nobody else out there. We personally like going on the Katy Trail in Dallas or White Rock Lake. If we go to a school track or something like that, we will lose motivation.
Purchase An Arm Band + Good Earphones: this arm band is what we use when we are running so we can still use our phone music and not have to carry our phone in our hands. We love these earphones because they use bluetooth, so you don’t have any annoying wire hanging. They actually stay in your ears!
Y’all may have seen or heard us talk about ExhaleSpa in Dallas. We love going there for spa treatments and for great fitness classes like power yoga and barre. Right now, and through the end of the month, they are offering a special promotion:
50% off any 60 or 90 minute facial or massage. Please mention Double Dose to receive discount.
25% off any classpack purchase. Please mention Double Dose to receive discount.
They are officially carrying Emergen-C!
They are offering an acupuncture and chill series on 10/16.
PS- we just got these adorably cycling shoes if you go to spinning classes a lot, or just love to cycle, these are SO cute!
As y’all can tell, we are pretty much obsessed with camo. Whether it is a tee, pants, or a sweatshirt, we will rock it! It is one of those prints that can be mixed and matched with other prints like stripes, leopard, and plaid. You can make it more girly with some blush or pink, or just pair it with a solid like white or black.
You all may have noticed we have been spending a lot of time in Rockwall, Texas. Our parents actually moved from El Paso, Texas to Rockwall a couple of months ago, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled! Instead of being a 10-hour drive away, they are now only 45 minutes away, which is a total game changer! We are at their place all of the time, and honestly, we act like we are moving in sometimes, haha. We wanted to share some of our favorite things about Rockwall, and why we love having our parents so close to us. Before we get into that, we wanted to share this lightly layered fall look. This scarf is a great neutral color that can be worn with lighter jackets like this utility jacket, or thicker sweaters. We paired it with these adorable embroidered mules that add such a fun pop to any outfit. They also come in leopard! The brown saddlebag is also a great piece for fall because it matches everything and can be worn with black, too!We love this utility jacket because you can layer it over a white tank, like we did, or with thicker sweaters underneath! It looks great with dresses, shorts, leggings, and jeans!
If y’all haven’t been to Rockwall before, and you live close to DFW, you all have to check it out! There is something so peaceful about it, and just slower-paced. They have a huge lake right as you enter the city called Lake Ray Hubbard, and it is so gorgeous! We haven’t had a chance to go on it yet, but you can rent kayaks, boats, paddle boards, and jet skis. They also have several restaurants on the lake, too!
Of course, we have found some great spots to grab a bite that we are obsessed with. There are three places that we really like, and seem to go to on a frequent basis, haha.
Zanata : their pizza and salmon is SO good. Literally could eat here on a daily basis!
Pier 101 : they have really good steamed crab and crawfish or just fish with veggies and quinoa!
The Book Club Cafe : great for breakfast or coffee. They also have really good burgers!
Fireside Chicken and Tacos : y’all know we love roasted chicken, and this place is delicious and super easy! You can also get tacos and other stuff, too!
Chills360: this ice cream place has rolled ice cream that is SO freaking bomb.
Happy weekend! We hope you all are having a relaxing weekend and soaking in some R&R! We are getting ready to head out on a short trip somewhere warm, so stay tuned! In case you all have missed any of our instagram posts (we post a lot, haha), you can shop them all HERE (Samantha) and HERE (Alexis).

We are sharing some of our favorite outfits recently below, so shop each look below the picture. As always, feel free to message us with any questions! Xo Can you all tell we love camo? Not just love, obsessed! This camo bomber hoodie is so soft and definitely a step up from a basic hoodie! These booties are literally all we have been wearing recently. They go with everything! We are wearing the olive color, but they also come in 2 other colors. The grey tee comes in a pack of 3 and is SO soft, and the ripped jeans are a great, overall pair with minimal rips. These cutoff shorts are 30% off right now and perfect for fall. We love them with some booties, like these!
Can’t go wrong with all denim. A chambray top is a must for layering in the fall! These slip ons and this olive bag are great accessories to pair with any outfit!
How adorable is this little green bag. We also have it in a nude color! It is a dupe for the Chloe bag at a fraction on the price!
We wore this adorable pom pom dress when we were in Grand Cayman. A lot of y’all asked about it, and it is perfect for a warm getaway! This palm print cami is a fun little top to pair with jeans or shorts for those of y’all who are still experiencing warm temps!
We are obsessed with this crossover dress that comes in a sleeveless version as well. This black bag is a great fall bag and it’s marked down right now!
How cute are these eye slip ons? We love them with shorts or jeans in the fall. They would also be super cute with some liquid leggings!
A lot of y’all were asking about these moto leggings. We got them last year and they are a MUST. The olive is a great neutral, but we will definitely be getting them in black this year, too. We are wearing the smallest size for reference. This is that same foldover dress we shared above in olive. This one comes in 6 colors and we have it in black and grey, too! Love it with a denim jacket and some booties.
If y’all are looking for some fall transitional outfit ideas, this is a great one! This grey v-neck is super comfy and lightweight, so it is great with shorts and a some peep-toe booties. Also, this bag is under $50 and goes with literally everything!
As much as we love heels (we are only 5’1″), we also love a flat. These strappy sandals are super cute with shorts or cuffed jeans!
Who doesn’t love a cozy lounge outfit to hang around, especially on the weekends?! This cardigan is one you’ve probably seen a ton on our instagrams because it is so lightweight and cozy! We love it with these lace shorts and this heathered tank!
Love a good off shoulder top like this with jeans! How fun is this set for a vaca?
You can’t go wrong with a fun printed top like this one with jeans!
Love a good striped top with shorts or jeans. The detailing on this one is super cute!
Who doesn’t love a comfy t shirt dress to throw on with some booties or sneaks?!
Fall is here, and normally we are not major fans of fall, but this year, we are actually kind of excited about it! We wanted to share some of our favorite fall activities that we are hoping we get to do this year. Before we get into some of the activities we are looking forward to, we wanted to share an easy transitional outfit for you all that live in Texas or California, where it will be pretty warm for the next couple of months. We love pairing some denim shorts with a basic tee and a fun bootie or mule, like these leopard ones. They look super cute with jeans, too! We paired them with this grey cross-body bag and this plaid scarf that you could throw on when it gets chillier out!We love mixing plaid and leopard together. It just works so well together! So, now for our favorite fall activities!
Apple Picking: we have only done this when we were younger, but we haven’t been able to find a spot near us in Dallas. If y’all know of any, let us know!
Pumpkin Patch: can’t wait to go and pick out a pumpkin, and take pictures there, of course!
Drive-In Movie: never done this before, but it looks SO fun! And, you can bring your own snacks and lay down, win-win!
Carving Pumpkins: totally a must! We haven’t done this since we were in college, but this is so fun to do!
Bake A Fall Dessert: we are totally obsessed with anything pumpkin or apple-filled, so we can’t wait to bake a ton! See some fall-recipe ideas here.
Grab Food/Drinks On A Patio: when it is finally nice out in Texas, we love grabbing some food or drinks on a patio. We shared our favorite patios in Dallas in this post.
Attend A Football Game: we are both major football fans. We could easily watch football all weekend-long and have ESPN on all of the time. We love going to a college game, or even NFL. We are UT alumni, so we grew up going to football games! See our game day outfit ideas in this post.
Make S’mores: who doesn’t love s’mores, and making them is even more fun!
Fall Hike: we don’t really get changing leaves in Texas, but it still so peaceful to go on a short hike outside when the weather is this nice. We shared our favorite places to walk in Dallas in this post.
