Happy Spring! We are so excited to share today’s look with you all because we have been trying to find the perfect kimono, especially for us mini-sized girls;) This lace duster/kimono is PERFECT for spring and summer, and it fits even more petite girls, like us! Usually kimonos can be wayyy too long or look like we are consumed in them, but this one is the perfect neutral, and fits so well!
What is so great about this kimono is that you can wear it over a swimsuit to the beach or pool as well!
All of these cute accessories are from Sole Society. They have THE cutest bags and shoes for spring all under $100. We still wear a lot of our pieces from them from years ago, and most of their bags and shoes are vegan!
Many of you probably haven’t been following us long enough to know that we did work a corporate job in public accounting. Well, obviously you wouldn’t know that because we weren’t even blogging at that point! Even though we don’t work corporate jobs anymore where we get ready to go to an office setting every day, we still love sharing business inspired looks with you all because we know most of you do actually have a job where looking office appropriate is important!
We are sharing this work look all from Nordstrom, where we used to shop for all of our work attire! When we are picking out outfits for work, or just any day, we look for pieces that are versatile, and can be worn for other occasions, other than just work. We are all about maximizing that buck, and what is in your closet.
Another way to maximize your buck (and your time) is by shopping online, and/or using in-store pickup with Nordstrom. We are overly obsessed with their customer service and that they offer free shipping and returns, so we are always ordering that size up (or down), so we know we can wear that pair of shoes ASAP, haha!
For this look, we paired this black asymmetrical skirt (could totally be worn out to date night or a girls’ night out with a cute top and heels) with this lace cami (another great piece you can wear with jeans or shorts!). On top, we put over this light linen cardigan that has pockets and is under $70! Also, love how you can dress this one down with some jeans or a cute spring dress.
Now that we have talked about this work look, we wanted to talk about why we think having a corporate job is important. As we mentioned before, we both worked corporate jobs in a big public accounting firm. It ended up being a great job and experience for us, but in the end, it wasn’t something we could see ourselves doing for years.
With that being said, we learned SO much about ourselves and just about life in general from that job.
We think it is so great that so many of millennials are starting their own businesses right out of college, or even in college. We totally get it and can appreciate having an entrepreneurial mindset, and while we think you can learn SO much from having your own business, you don’t experience other life experiences that you get from working for someone else or that you would in a larger company.
Things like working for difficult people, going to a job you don’t necessarily enjoy, working in and under conditions that you may not be able to control, etc. We are people that can push ourselves extremely hard to work diligently, even at home, but there are a lot of people that aren’t like that, and that is totally okay!
There were so many instances that we would have preferred more flexibility, or just would have wanted to do the tasks differently, but if you are working for someone else, you don’t necessarily get that say.
Since we did work in the corporate setting before owning our own businesses, we can appreciate all the positives and negatives of running the show. Both worlds have their upsides and downsides, but we know had we not worked that initial job, we wouldn’t have learned some valuable lessons and things about ourselves.
In case you missed our last episode of An Extra Dose, you can listen to that here!
A little about this episode:
On this episode of An Extra Dose Podcast, we are talking all about the super fun effects of Daylight Savings: lack of sleep! We are sharing tips for combatting a time change and/or jet lag and one of our favorite loungewear brands, PJ Salvage. We also talk about how we deal with social anxiety, and how Alexis is dealing with being a single twin, and her tips on how to be single, and enjoy it! The Belbel sisters finish off with their favorite restaurants in Tulum, Mexico.
Happy Friday! Since spring is here, we wanted to share a spring skincare update with you all. We don’t share a ton of skincare lines because we only like to share the ones we truly use on a regular basis! We have the opportunity to try out so many lines, which is so fun, but there are only a few that really stand out to us enough for us to share. One of the brands we have been incorporating the last few weeks is Colleen Rothschild.
We are sure you have heard of their amazing products before, but in case you haven’t, we wanted to share some of our favorites with you all, and since they are having a big sale on all their products, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to post them!
So, first off, you all know that we care about what is actually in these products we are putting on our skin. All of their products are free of parabens, sulfates, formaldehdyde, toluene, and benzene. This is super important to us in any line.
What we love the most about their line is that there is a very easy to follow step-by-step regimen for day and night. We don’t know about y’all, but it can be overwhelming with all the brands and lines out there. For us, our skin tends to be on the drier side, so we need more hydrating and moisturizing products, especially with all of the winter season.
So, to start with, if you’re new to Colleen Rothschild, we recommend trying out their Discover Collection. With this kit, you get to try all of their best-selling products, and get a super cute travel bag to use! Also, these products are the perfect size for carry-on traveling, which is always us;)
With the Discovery Kit, you get:
Radiant Cleansing Balm: amazing for cleansing day and night. Leaves your skin feeling super clean and soft.
Face Oil N°9: we have been loving this face oil! We use this one at night, and you only need a tiny little bit each use!
Muslin Cleansing Cloth: love this cloth to use when taking off makeup with cleansing balm.
All of these are amazing, and we will highlight our top three products in just a minute, but before we do that, a little more about this kit!
So, you obviously get all seven of these products, but what is great about is that it is broken down into a nighttime routine and a daytime routine. Each routine has steps for you to follow, so you know exactly what order to do each product in!
For daytime: you would just cleanse with the Cleansing Balm, and then follow up with the Sheer Renewal Cream. Then top with your favorite sunscreen and makeup!
For nighttime, use the Cleansing Balm to cleanse face. Then, apply the Dual Enzyme Polish (if you haven’t used that week yet). After that, use the Clarifying Detox Mask (if you haven’t used that week yet) for a little spa treatment! If you’re feeling really dry (after the winter or a trip), apply theExtreme Recovery Cream: followed by the Face Oil N°9.If you just need some moisturizing and renewal, skip the cream, and just apply the Face Oil N°9.
So now, our TOP THREE products:
Radiant Cleansing Balm: If you’re used to using a traditional cleanser, we know it may seem a little odd to use a balm, BUT, trust us, it is amazing! You apply it to dry hands and a dry face, and it literally melts off your makeup, even stubborn eye makeup. PS- if you have lash extensions, do not rub on your lashes, but you can use everywhere else 😉 What is the best about it is that it doesn’t leave your skin feeling super dry after cleansing.
You can also use the Muslin Cleansing Cloth and soak it in hot water and apply to your face for a few minutes for a mini spa treatment, or just use to remove makeup!
Matcha Tea Treatment Toner: we had been skipping toner for years, but in the last year have been on the toner train! This one smells ahhmazing, and it helps to reduce pores and bacteria. What we love about this one is that it doesn’t leave you feeling extra dry like other toners.
Vitamin C Treatment Complex: First off, if you are not using any Vitamin C in your routine, you need to jump on that ASAP. It is SO important for brightening your skin. You know how your skin can tend to look dull sometimes? Well, this is your best friend! We apply this one after cleansing, before moisturizing!
Oh, and like we mentioned earlier, they are having a sale on all their products! Save up to 25% off through Monday, March 18th with the codes below:

St. Patrick’s Day is this weekend, and we have been getting a lot of questions about outfit ideas, so while we were pulling outfit ideas, we wanted to share ways to style one of our favorite utility jackets. There are SO many ways you can wear it! We seriously wear this one all of the time, and through all seasons!
We just got back from a trip to Tulum (full trip details coming to the blog soon once we have some time to write it all down), but we know so many of you all are headed somewhere soon, so we wanted to put together some spring packing must haves! In case you missed our swimsuit cover up roundup, you can check those out here.
Of course, this is not all of them, but here are the necessities:
Neutral Wedges: you can wear these day and night and they are super comfy to walk in!
Metallic Slides: we just got these and are obsessed. They match everything and can be worn during the day at the beach/pool, or at night with some shorts or a cute dress.
Clear Jeweled Slides: these are such a fun pair to wear to the beach or pool, and the best part is you can totally wear them at night with a cute white dress.
Tortoise Cage Bag: This is a dupe for a popular bag you all may have seen, and this tortoise one is so fun!
Personalized Travel Tote: this is the tote we use ALL of the time. You can change the print, stripe color, and monogram, and they have new prints for spring!
Straw Hat: a hat is always a good idea, and this one isn’t just for the beach!
Mineral Sunscreen Brush: we use this to to touch up our sunscreen throughout the day, and it also soaks up oil!
