Happy Thursday! We are so excited to share one of our favorite types of shoes: sneakers! We get a lot of questions about certain types of sneakers, and what workouts they are best for, so we rounded up a bunch of good ones for you all (a lot of them we own!), and they are ALL on sale– 50% off! It won’t last long, so be sure to shop ASAP before sizes sell out!
We used to just pick out shoes based off of looks, and we admit it, we still do sometimes, BUT, it is important to pick out the right type of shoe for the activity you are doing!
For example, shoes that are more “casual”, will probably not be the best support for running or training! Of course, a running shoe could be worn for just casual, every day, but for training, you usually will want a more firm, flatter sole.
We wanted to call out a few of the shoes that we own and love because it will be from personal experience 😉
RUNNING:
We have #1 and love how supportive and comfy they are! They are super padded and come in a ton of color waves!
#3 is probably one of our most worn pairs! We have this pair in 3 colors and find ourselves wearing them all of the time. We don’t typically run in these, but we love these for regular workouts, walking, and casual, every day shoes!
#5 we have in two colors and love how comfy these are! We have them in the olive color and light pink! These are also great for training.
#6 is another major fave! Not only are these comfy, they are not clunky, and are lightweight! We have these in 3 colors, and almost ordered a 4th pair, but stopped ourselves– enough is enough, haha;)
TRAINING:
#8 is the same pair as #5, just a different color!
#9 we have an older version of and love the fit of them for lifting weights because they have a firmer sole.
CASUAL:
#14 we got last year and love how they look with leggings, but also shorts and jeans!
#15 is a fun retro shoe that we have in black and white! They are super cute with dresses, rompers, jeans, leggings, and shorts!
#17 is a fun metallic pair we have a version of from last year! These are great with jeans or fun athleisure outfits!
Happy Wednesday! So excited to be back with you all for another Wellness Wednesday post! This week, we are sharing this cute athleisure look you can wear straight from the gym to errands or meetings, and, our favorite part: 5 easy and quick breakfast ideas that are vegan, and that we have made and loved!
Before we get into the recipes (or y’all can just scroll down to see them!), we wanted to share these black joggers that we LOVE. They are not supper fitted (we have size xs) and they are so comfy, so they are great for traveling, too!
APPLE PIE OATMEAL: We love a warm and cozy oatmeal bowl, and we love how clean and natural the ingredients are! You could make this one ahead of time, too!

WILD BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE BOWL: This one is one we make a lot, especially in the warmer months! This is loaded with antioxidants and powerful nutrients to heal your body. We sometimes add spirulina and other greens in there, too!

WILD BLUEBERRY MINI MUFFINS: we made these a couple weeks ago, and LOVED these so much. They are crazy easy to make and taste delicious. Our mom couldn’t stop raving about them! You could bake these on Sundays and have them for the week, too!
**PS- be sure to pin and save this image for later so you can come back to these yummy recipes!
Happy Friday and first week of 2019! We wanted to share some of our favorite pieces (and yours) from 2018. We did this post last year, and got such good feedback on it, we wanted to share it again.
We thought it would be easiest to divide it by categories to make it easier for you all to browse!
Essie Gel Couture Polish (#15): this polish is what we get on our toes. We love this light pink color (wearing “Matter Of Fiction”) and it really lasts so much longer than regular polish, without being gel polish. We just don’t like gel polish on our toes because it is a pain to get off!
St. Tropez Self Tanner (#4): This is our go-to self tanner to use year-round. We put it in our face, too. There are some other great options (more in this post). We also got these drops we can’t wait to try!
T3 Twirl Curling Iron (#12): a lot of people ask us if this one is worth it, and the answer is YES! This one is the one we have had the longest and works great on any hair length. You can also switch out the barrels for different widths of curls.
If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, this one is another one we have that works really well, too!
CLOTHING:
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings (#5): you all have probably heard us talk about these so much, but we have literally been living in them. We have them in size s petite and regular size xs. Our mom got them, too, and is in love with them!
V-Neck Tee (#7): this one is just a great staple! You can wear it under so many things and it comes in a TON of colors. We have it in size xs!
Lace Bralette (#8): this is so cute to throw on under sweaters, tanks in the summer, or basic tees. It adds enough detail, without being too much! We got a size s in it (we are a 30 DD), but we probably could have gone with a size xs.
Distressed Jeans (#9): we have a lot of ripped jeans, but we always seem to gravitate to this pair. They are stretchy, come in a shorter length (major for us shorties!), and they are affordable and usually on sale for $44. We have size 24 short for reference.
Faux Leather Moto Jacket (#10): We got this one in July during the Anniversary Sale and wear it all of the time. We love the gold hardware on it, and what is even better is that you can remove the hood, so you can dress the jacket up. We have size xs for reference.
SHOES:
Rockstud Sandals (#1): this pair we got last year, and they are such a good dupe for the real deal. We actually have the real version as well, and like this pair better, haha!
Adidas Edge Bounce Sneakers (#6): We have these in two colors (also olive green). These are obviously comfortable and can be worn to workout, but also with athleisure wear. We have these in size 7.
Suede Boots (#11): There are obviously a tonnnn of suede boot options out there, but this pair fit us so well. They are not OTK boots, but they look great with jeans, skirts, dresses, and leggings. We have them in both the “tobacco” and “mushroom” colors in size 6.5, but they do run a little small.
Tory Burch Miller Sandal (#13): We don’t even need to explain these because they are so popular, but let’s just say, the hype is real! They go with everything and are so comfy. We have them in size 7 in the “sand patent” and leopard. This light pink color is next on our list!
Cutout Suede Bootie (#16): Another thing we bought during the Anniversary Sale. These booties can be worn all year (all about the bang for your buck!) and the color we have (“foxy suede”) matches everything. We have size 6.5 and they’re marked down right now!
ACCESSORIES:
David Yurman Ring (#3): we do have a lot of rings and jewelry, but this one is the one we get asked about the most. We honestly love all of his pieces, and this one is no different. It is so timeless and goes with all other jewelry since it has both gold and silver! It is definitely an investment piece, but it something you can wear every day for a long time!
Gucci Soho Disco Bag (#14): this bag is a major staple FOR SURE. We legit fight over it and wear it every.single.day. We know it is a splurge, BUT, we do wear it every day and it goes with literally any outfit. Space-wise, it does hold more than you think it would!
Happy New Year! We are going to be starting to share a lot more health and wellness posts on here since so many of you all had been requesting that! So, let’s kick off our first Wellness Wednesday for 2019!!
As you all know we live in Dallas and we have more recently been eating plant based the last few months. If you all want to read more about that, you can read more here and here. We get asked all of the time what our favorite spots in our city are for those of you who are visiting for the weekend, or just looked for some new spots to try! We are avid users of yelp, and absolutely LOVE finding new places at home, or in new cities we are visiting, so we are super excited to share some of our favorites with you all!
So quick story on these pictures: we took these at one of our favorite juice bars #1: Juiceland: this spot is actually in Austin, too! They have the best smoothies and juices, and they even have some great salads and wraps!#2: Lala’s Mexican Cuisine: as so many good, healthy Mexican options, and you can even get your tacos wrapped in lettuce OR your enchilada wrapped in zucchini! All of their food is organic and non-GMO. Gather Kitchen is a great breakfast, lunch, or dinner spot. You can create your own bowl, too. True Food Kitchen is a lot of people’s favorites and SO many healthy options!
It also happens to be walking distance to two of our other favorite spots: Gather Kitchen and True Food Kitchen.#5: FlowerChild: has a ton of vegan and vegetarian options! You can also create your own bowl, and they have sustainable protein options like chicken and salmon, too.
#6: Tribal All Day Cafe: you all may know of their juices, but they also have a food menu in Dallas. They have things like tacos and migas, smoothies, bowls, and wraps. Everything is so fresh!
#7: Snappy Salads: our go-to salad spot! We like to get the large size and fill it up with all the veggies!#8: Kozy Kitchen: LOVE this spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Their portions are huge and they have an amazing roasted vegetable plate, amongst other great dishes. The breakfast there is also killer.
#9: Origin Kitchen And Bar: This place has a ton of paleo and vegetarian options! We love their salads, and they have a ton of great bowls and healthier options!#10: Mudhen Meat and Greens: Another great spot in the Dallas Farmer’s Market. They have a board in the restaurant with all their fresh, in-season vegetables and label them if they are vegan. We also love their spring roll appetizers!
#11: Reverie Bakeshop: if you love dessert, you all HAVE to try this one! They have all plant-based and vegan treats. SO good! And some on our list to try (we have heard all great things!):
#1:V Eats Modern Vegan: Sam’s boyfriend said this spot was actually pretty good and he isn’t vegan!
#2: Be Raw: this spot has all raw foods and looks delicious!
#3: Cosmic Cafe: the food looks really good here, and the stir fries sound delicious!#4: Sundown At Granada: this is actually very close to where we live, so we have to pop in sometime!
#5: Spiral Diner: they have a lot of options that are usual favorites, but made vegan.
#6: Goji Cafe: this place is a vegan restaurant with Asian and Chinese cuisine! All of the food looks amazing.
#7: Recipe Oak Cliff: they have a ton of fresh juices, salads, and even zoodles! What is so great about most of these places is that a lot of them are walkable to each other! Of course, if you’re going to be doing some walking, you need some comfy shoes.
These blush ballet flats are SOOO comfy– perfect for walking and grabbing a bite! We know when we worked our corporate jobs, or even a lot of days now, we want to get some fresh air and grab a bite somewhere where we can walk to. Not only are these ballet flats comfortable, they are great for work, too, and they come in several colors like black, gold, and silver.
So, we know you’re probably wondering… another pair of ballet flats. They all look the same! Welllll, this pair is different for several reasons, and we know you will love them as much we do!
This blush pair feels like you’re totally wearing sneakers (in a good way), but look like a sleek pair of ballet flats. They’re super bouncy and cushion-y, and so light! We love this blush color as a great neutral, but we also have our eyes on the metallic gold or silver.
We can’t believe today is the last day of 2018! It seems like this year has totally flown by. We feel like we should have at least a couple more weeks or months left of this year! Today, we thought we would share five things we learned in 2018 (although, it feels like we learned way more than five, haha!) Before we get into that, we wanted to talk about this neutral, winter-white look, featuring our favorite studded shoes ever!
We also paired this neutral windowpane scarf from Sole Society (also where the shoes and bag are from) with this camel turtleneck sweater underneath! We love shopping for shoes and accessories for any season at Sole Society because they are affordable and SO stylish!
And, now to close out 2018, here is what we learned:
YOU CAN’T DO IT ALL: seems obvious, duh! But, seriously, we are so type-A and extremely motivated, especially if it involves things we are passionate about- ie: work, eating/cooking, family, etc. It is hard for us to say “no” or to “turn it off”.
We are trying to work on this by creating a list of things that have to absolutely get done, and things that can be pushed to the next day, and that has been helping!
THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON– YOU CAN’T PLAN SOME THINGS: we probably have said this before, but we are such planners, and it can be difficult at times to not have an exact plan of everything. A lot of things that we thought were going to go a certain way, didn’t go the way we thought they would, and sometimes you just don’t know why, and that is okay. Sometimes, you just have to know there is a better plan in the future that will be the explanation for all of the stuff that happened.
FOCUS ON THE THINGS YOU’RE GRATEFUL FOR, NOT THE THINGS THAT YOU DON’T HAVE: we have all heard this one before (insert eye-roll), but especially with social media and all of our world, it can be hard to not compare, or wish you had certain things. We are really trying to focus on what we DO have, and how great it really is- ie: our family, our great job, health.) There is always something to be grateful for!
YOU CAN’T PLEASE EVERYONE: this isn’t just about work, it is about everything in our life. Relationships, work, family, etc. All you can do is focus on loving yourself and putting yourself first. That is not a selfish thing to do! You have to care about yourself and LOVE yourself first, otherwise you will live in resentment. Besides, nobody needs toxic people in their lives!
YOUR HEALTH IS THE MOST VALUABLE THING: boy, did we learn this! We have been through so much this year with our health, and feel like we are finally on the right path (more in this post! ) Don’t ever take your health for granted because without it, you have nothing. We had days where we could barely get out of bed or go on a short walk, so we are so grateful that we are feeling better and getting our energy back! Trust your gut, and know when you don’t feel right. You are your own best advocate!
Of course, we have all shopped at Bed, Bath & Beyond at one point or another! Anytime we need anything from bedding, bathroom stuff, home appliances, or really anything home related, that is our go-to spot! We remember when we were moving a couple years ago, we practically lived at Bed Bath & Beyond.
We popped into one of their newer store concepts in Plano, and wanted to share how cool it is. We had too much fun browsing and shopping around!
The store in Plano, Texas has all of their usual products that you’d find there, BUT, they have some additional fun sections: seasonal decor, decorative furnishings, treasure hunt and deep-value merchandise (pieces that are harder to find and unique!), food and beverages (like you’d find at World Market), and health and beauty care.
We actually weren’t planning on updating one of our bedrooms, but when we saw their newer display of bedding and duvets, we fell in love with this velvet duvet (see the bottom of this post to see how we styled it!).
What is so cool about their newer bedding area is that you can actually see what you’re buying before you do! They have them all set up so you can take them down and put them on the beds there to see how they look. What is also great for them is that they can show so many more duvets for customers, without having to carry so much inventory in the store! You can get it delivered straight to your house right after you buy it in store.
If you’re not a coffee drinker, chances are someone who is close to you is 😉 We don’t know about y’all, but we don’t want to spend a ton of money on a brand new coffee maker without being able to try it out first. At Bed Bath & Beyond, you can actually test out all of the coffee makers they have! This Breville one was SO neat!
They also have an area where you can sample some Keurig K-cups before buying! This is a total game-changer! Nobody wants to buy a whole new box of cups, only to find out you hate the taste of them.
Another really fun section of their store is the “treasure hunt” area. This area reminds of us what you’d find at an upscale flea market as in the pieces are unique, from all over the world, and there is only one, so you have to “buy it before it is gone”. We saw some really cool rugs, office chairs, throw blankets, and more!
They also have a section where you can purchase alcohol and food! So convenient, especially for get togethers and NYE and other holidays!
We styled this grey velvet duvet (OBSESSED) that we saw in the store! We got it shipped to us (free shipping), so it was a no brainer. We chose the “stone” color and also got the throw pillow to go with it.
